“Crazy how these things happen. I wandered into this place just out of curiosity. The young man behind the counter (really nice young guy) asked me if I want to go into the museum. I'll be honest, I was not so excited at first since it kind of looks small from where you enter the building, but I was wrong. First floor is really interesting. All about the gold mining that went on there. The second floor has some amazing artifacts and rooms which are set up the way they would have been back in the day. Pretty amazing place really. Impressive collection and well worth the stop.”

“Loved it. I highly suggest to anyone, even locals, to check it out. Affordable and so much to learn. The woman attendant at the entrance was very friendly(makes you feel welcome and like an old friend) and she was full of information about her museum's artifacts and local history. She made the tour fun and interesting.”

“This place is a must see when here in Cripple Creek. Amazing how advanced it was for being built at the turn of the century. The tour was short but insightful. Lots to look at & the gift shop was tastefully stocked with some great stuff at very reasonable prices. Jack Dempsey (the boxer) even stayed here for a quick minute.”

Old Homestead House Museum

“This place is absolutely a fantastic piece of history to this gold mining town. The ladies taking us through the tour were soo knowledgeable that the past came to life. Walking through the door, the 1800’s comes into frame. As they stated, many gold mine deals were discussed & closed within those walls. Everything here is exquisite & a must see for any antique/history aficionados. Even the door hinges were handcrafted!”

“This is a small, yet very interesting museum. There are several small exhibits about Native Americans in the area, early settlers, and geology all with some very cool artifacts. Hours are limited, but if you can make a trip here it is definitely worth it to learn more about the history of Florissant and the Pikes Peak region.”

“Such a wonderful Heritage/History/Museum Center. The views from the huge windows are spectacular, you can spend a couple hours exploring all three levels. So much to see and learn.I LOVE this place.
