“Beautiful gulch and trail loop! The homestead has been nicely restored on the exterior! And, though no entry is allowed into any of the buildings, walking around them and on their old doorsteps and historic grounds is a walk back in time!”

“This little museum was surprisingly interesting and very well done. They offer a fairly quick guided tour that even the children enjoyed, and their old steam engines now operate on compressed air and are quite impressive. They've built some extraordinary structures on their grounds.”

“Gorgeous historical site. Visiting this museum takes you back to the original time period (1895). Very beautifully designed and maintained, everything in this museum demonstrated the care in preserving the authenticity of the time period. Given the chance, I would highly suggest having High Tea in the Queens Parlor—very unique experience that will not disappoint. The food is delicious, the tea is impeccable and the service was beautiful and authentic. Would definitely visit again, overall a beautiful timepiece that displays history in an interactive, informative and awe inspiring kind of way.”

“Crazy how these things happen. I wandered into this place just out of curiosity. The young man behind the counter (really nice young guy) asked me if I want to go into the museum. I'll be honest, I was not so excited at first since it kind of looks small from where you enter the building, but I was wrong. First floor is really interesting. All about the gold mining that went on there. The second floor has some amazing artifacts and rooms which are set up the way they would have been back in the day. Pretty amazing place really. Impressive collection and well worth the stop.”

“My Aunt Delpha had that same stove! What a lovely job they've done displaying things from our history. I'm glad I live with today's modern conveniences, but this house must have been something back in its day. Great job!”

“Loved it. I highly suggest to anyone, even locals, to check it out. Affordable and so much to learn. The woman attendant at the entrance was very friendly(makes you feel welcome and like an old friend) and she was full of information about her museum's artifacts and local history. She made the tour fun and interesting.”

“This place is a must see when here in Cripple Creek. Amazing how advanced it was for being built at the turn of the century. The tour was short but insightful. Lots to look at & the gift shop was tastefully stocked with some great stuff at very reasonable prices. Jack Dempsey (the boxer) even stayed here for a quick minute.”

“We heard about this display and thought we would check it out. Oh my goodness! The cars featured from the movies was incredible!! From Carrie to Cars to Batman, Fast and the Furious and plenty more. If you like movies and know the vehicles involved, you really need to visit. They also take suggestions. So I suggested the Steve McQueen car from Gone in 60 seconds, the hearse in Nightmare Before Christmas, the Chevelle from Better Off Dead, and a few others. Enjoy!!”

“Especially for such a small town, this museum is absolutely excellent. Tiny price of entry and extremely rich history on display. They have all kinds of incredible displays, from uniforms donated by remarkable individuals themselves to massive aircraft with great historical and technical value. The staff themselves are excellent people as well, all with their own great personal stories too. Ask for details about anything and you will not be disappointed!”

“14K gold, diamonds, sapphires, pink tourmaline and wonderful paintings, pottery and glass in very tasteful designs. You can't beat the beautiful handmade jewelry and fine art prices at Gallery 1505. I bought a ring, bracelet and earrings for my wife and daughter. Love the creativity. Will be returning regularly. Photos are just a few examples.”

“This place is absolutely a fantastic piece of history to this gold mining town. The ladies taking us through the tour were soo knowledgeable that the past came to life. Walking through the door, the 1800’s comes into frame. As they stated, many gold mine deals were discussed & closed within those walls. Everything here is exquisite & a must see for any antique/history aficionados. Even the door hinges were handcrafted!”

“A truly unique experience. Visitors have the freedom to touch and crawl through nearly all areas of the dwellings. Interesting descriptions are posted throughout. The gift shop is large and full of interesting finds. This would probably be about a two maybe three hour adventure if sometime is bent in the gift shop. The on-site museum is small but interesting and adds to the educational component. It is certainly worth a visit with admission costs very reasonable.”
Address: 18033 Teller County Rd 1, Florissant, CO 80816, USA
“This is a small, yet very interesting museum. There are several small exhibits about Native Americans in the area, early settlers, and geology all with some very cool artifacts. Hours are limited, but if you can make a trip here it is definitely worth it to learn more about the history of Florissant and the Pikes Peak region.”

“My husband, Ragan Simpich, is the Jeep Guy who has rescued around 130 old jeeps. His latest find just got a paint job and is pictured in the photo. One that he rescued from being scrapped is here that won the International Military Preservation Association Gold Award for being motor pool ready to go back into battle. Just got lots of new old stock parts for miscellaneous 1940-1950 Jeeps and GM parts. Come see if we have the part you need.”

“This is a great place to hold an event. I have hosted two large events here, one a celebration and one a fundraiser. Both were successes. Great space, good adjustable lighting, clean, lots of parking and well run. Easy to access, both from a driving perspective and getting your supplies into the event space. Having the American Alpine Club, The Colorado Mountain Club and the Colorado Trail in the building is a bonus and gave our events additional character. For outdoor people, the museum, displays, and library are fantastic. I highly recommend the venue. As we were taking down from my last event a wedding party was setting-up . By the time I left, they were already in full swing and having a fabulous party. They also made a great choice.”

“Such a wonderful Heritage/History/Museum Center. The views from the huge windows are spectacular, you can spend a couple hours exploring all three levels. So much to see and learn.I LOVE this place. My son brought me to visit 5 years ago. And most recently, I brought my husband and my 2 year old grandson. My grandson loves the dinosaur exhibit and especially loved the model train exhibit. This place is great for all ages.”
