Kith/Kin

Address: 801 Wharf St SW, Washington, DC 20024, USA

Restaurant

“August 2019, I visited Kith and Kin for the first time and was BLOWN AWAY! The introduction the waiter gave, the atmosphere, the service, the food, the wine... IMPECCABLE! I am vegetarian, so I was happy to see a few options to choose from. The brussel sprouts, amazing. I was SOLD once coco bread was offered as the complimentary starter. In fine dining, I've never experienced that, and I was impressed. Located inside the Wharf DC Intercontinental hotel, the restaurant gives you amazing city views without the city noise, set in the heart of it all. and the BEST part is, it's black owned!”

Hyatt House Washington Dc / The Wharf

Address: 725 Wharf St SW, Washington, DC 20024, USA

Lodging

“I stayed at this hotel while I was in DC for a meeting at the federal communications commission. The hotel is new and the inside of the hotel is very nice. My room was nice and very quiet. Hotel sits down by the wharf so it’s a very nice place to be like to go check out the sights. Very close to all of the tourist attractions. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again.”

InterContinental Washington D.C. - the Wharf

Address: 801 Wharf St SW, Washington, DC 20024, USA

Lodging

“The location, rooms, and staff were all top notch! From the moment I walked through the front door, the staff was amazing; friendly, professional, and welcoming. The check in process was very smooth, and there is self parking less than 100 yards away. The room, a river view, was spectacular! It had all the trimmings you’d expect, but the view stole the show! We could stand on the balcony and see the cherry blossoms in the tidal basin, the river, and the gold course. Truly fantastic! The location is great, with lots of nice dining options, and an easy walk to the National Mall.”

Kaliwa

Address: 751 Wharf St SW, Washington, DC 20024, USA

Restaurant

“Get the tasting menu for $65 a person. It is worth it! We went to try different foods and found out there was a tasting menu so instead of getting multiple things and spending more than 65 a person this was perfect. We had 2 apps, 5 entries and 2 desserts It is family style so everything is shareable. Also the food was amazing!!! Some food was spicy but it was really good”

Kirwan’s on the Wharf

Address: 749 Wharf St SW, Washington, DC 20024, USA

Restaurant

“Came in for a birthday dinner tonight. Lamb burger, sirloin, and fish and chips were all good. The chocolate brownie was ehh, not worth the calories- definitely would try the apple pie next time! It's a very cozy little place, nice atmosphere, food came out fast. It would be nicer if there were more bathrooms!”

Grazie Grazie

Address: 85 District Square SW, Washington, DC 20024, USA

Restaurant

“This place is very yummy. The sandwiches are huge and very filling and they are one of the few places that know how to do fries really well. And the chocolate chip cookies are divine. One of the best unique features is the manager is really sweet and friendly and makes sure you’re well taken care of. If you’re looking for a yummy, unique meal Grazie Grazie will surely satisfy.”

Dolcezza Gelato & Coffee

“These people are always so wonderful. I'm a particular coffee drinker (isn't everyone), and I have particular affinity for foamy milk over ice. The staff are so patient and so generous, and they always know my order. Special shout out to Miles and Jonathan, who are so engaging and friendly. They make the visits worth it, time and time again. Thanks guys!”

Southwest Waterfront Park

Address: Washington, DC 20024, USA

Park

“This quaint little park sits just south of the DC Wharf and is a nice, well-maintained place to sit and relax in the shade, or to run through on your way to somewhere else. The Titanic Memorial is at its south end, and the scenery is nice, with views of Potomac Park and the DC skyline. Because there is a Metro PD boat station adjacent to the park, it seems to be pretty safe and quiet.”

Hank's Oyster Bar

Address: 701 Wharf St SW, Washington, DC 20024, USA

Restaurant

“Back again. They keep moving up. Service was much better! Kat was a great server/waitress, awesome personality. They are now 4.5 on the way to be 5 Stars. The Oysters and drinks, excellent. Fun wine from Basque Country. The Wait and Service staff - excellent. This was fourth visit, and the food is no longer boring. The steak chimichurri was fab, the oysters great, and surprisingly the mussels awesome. But this place is noisy and a bit cold outside. They give you a nice blanket, but the cold seeps in. This place has excellent looks and bones, and will be a truly excellent restaurant.”

Canopy by Hilton Washington DC The Wharf

“One of the best rooms I’ve ever stayed. Awesome design. However, one of the least comfortable beds. The bed is way too soft, not quite flat and the worst thing is it generates a lot of heat, got super hot during night with 65 degrees Fahrenheit AC. I ended up being super tired the next day. Hope they can improve!”

District Hardware and Bike

Address: 730 Maine Ave SW, Washington, DC 20024, USA

Bicycle store Hardware store Store

“Good paint department, housewares, and hardware. If this store doesn't have it, they will order it for you. You can look on the TrueValue website to see the full selection available for ship to store. We recently needed to get a quart of paint for touch-ups on a wall with paint purchased at another store. By the other store's color name alone, their computer was able to precisely match the formula. We can barely tell where the patched paint is on our wall. The owner and staff are extremely nice and helpful. I don't mind at all paying a few bucks more for some items to keep this convenient local store in business in Southwest. This hardware store is hands-down the best thing that has opened in The Wharf for the neighborhood.”
