The waters from the swollen St John's River has finally subsided and the cattle have moved down to the river again. This makes wildlife spotting much easier, since the cows aren't moseying around mooing and making noise. Birds, insects, small game, deer, gators, you name it, it's here! Take just a few minutes while you are wandering about and just listed. Stand still, look out at the scenery in front of you and just take it in. Silence is golden, my friends, and the only noise you'll hear is the air-boats here and there off in the distance. There are vehicle trails as well as countless footpaths to keep your feet moving. If you're looking for a good hike on some solid ground, this is your place. Dip off the beaten path into one of the many off shoot game trails, and chances are you'll find some beautiful natural surroundings. Definitely a great hike and an excellent location to dive into the Florida outdoors and find your peace and quiet.”
