“Food is as every other Burger King. But this particular site's staff is extremely nice. Went above and beyond to ensure we had a good meal.”

Double J Restaurant

Address: 1341 Hwy 17, Wauchula, FL 33873, USA

Restaurant

“It's a hole in the wall, family type place. The outside of the building looks like a motel office. It's next door to Alan Jay car dealership on the Left, up on a hill. Service was excellent. Lots of locals keeps this place hopping. Good food for a great price. Not too over the top in price. Their biscuits are big, so good and fresh. Eggs are made to order and I ordered the French toast without maple syrup and used whipped cream instead.”

Pioneer Restaurant

Address: 2902 Hwy 17, Zolfo Springs, FL 33890, USA

Restaurant

“For so many years I’ve been driving past this little restaurant sitting well established deep within the aquifers of zoflo springs. While so many continue to drive right on by, the smart ones come to a full stop here. All train tracks end here as momma is the back conducting the kitchen bell. All pioneers coming through found their fountain of youth, inflation was certainly not found here! The buck stopped at cash register leaving plenty in the kitty. The coconut cream pie is one of the best I have ever tried and could be mistaken for ice cream. There is nothing fancy here but all good homemade cookin and table spirits.”

Taquería La Pasadita

Address: 2285 Hwy 17, Wauchula, FL 33873, USA

Restaurant

“Worth stopping for! We shared 4 carnita tacos and 4 carnita tostadas. Delicious pork and homemade tortillas! We will be back.”

Solomon's Castle

Address: 4533 Solomon Rd, Ona, FL 33865, USA

Restaurant

“Absolutely love it! Arthur Solomon was obviously an absolute genius, a phenomenal artist in so many different mediums & techniques and a brilliant businessman. I was cycle touring through the area and saw a nondescript sign for "Solomon's Castle". On a whim, I decided to detour and check out the"aluminum castle". There was so much more than just an aluminum castle 🏰. When I arrived onto the property, I met the late Arthur Solomon's daughter, and she gave me permission to plug my gear in for recharging whilst touring the grounds and the castle. I didn't realize until later that she was his daughter, she was so humble I thought she just worked there. Stained glass windows, wooden artworks, a wooden ship that houses a restaurant, and innumerable other treasures all hand made by Arthur Solomon. And the property is still run by his family. What a tribute to a legendary man. The only thing missing, is not being able to meet the man himself, as he sadly passed away in 2016 at the age of 81. How I would have loved to have been apprenticed to a genius of that caliber. 'I make things. Arthur Sanford Solomon".”

“If you are traveling, or you have kids in a small town. Finding a good Mexican restaurant is very hard. What can I say about taco Isabel? They’re clean and friendly. Food is incredibly good. It is a very charming sweet please.”

Boat In The Moat

Address: 4585 Solomon Rd, Ona, FL 33865, USA

Restaurant

“Solomens Castle....Castle tour plus has sit-down lunches. Cool place to visit. Unique artwork done with old metal pieces and wood. The tour guide inside the castle was insightful, and the tour is based on words of original artist and owner. Quite a unique sense of humor related to his works. Beautiful stained glass too. Sorry no pics allowed inside.”

King's Fries

Address: 4650 FL-62, Bowling Green, FL 33834, USA

Restaurant

“I've eaten at a lot of small hole in the wall places in my job over the last 25 years. And I know that I've driven by this one at least a hundred times over the last few years. I've never been sure about stopping in however... Sometimes I've just driven by too early and it's not open yet but anyway, I drove by a little after noon the other day and thought what the heck, how bad could it be... I was hungry and figured they must have something there worth eating. I ordered a Cuban, lightly pressed. With fries. The Cuban pleasantly surprised me. It was maybe a little less like a Cuban than I expected but more like some type of deli sandwich. The bread was awesome and everything on it was fresh and tasty. I would easily go back for the sandwich. The fries on the other hand we're not what I was hoping for. While hot enough, they were a little on the soggy and floppy side for my taste. I like crispy fries better than floppy fries but, still not bad. I'm going to go back and try other menu items but in the meantime, this is a solid four out of five.”
