Common camping spot, not much to see. Beginners welcome.
Could be tough in wet conditions in a regular car
Very serene, bring your own water unless it has been raining as I had trouble finding a source to filter and boil from. All in all I cant wait to come back.
A very nice place to go and just explore the wilderness. We see turtles dear other animals as well. Was a very nice place. You can hear the gun range in the far background that would be the only thing.
This is not a campground, it's just the edge of the Juniper Prairie Wilderness Area. Take FR 33 North from State Road 40, just West of the Juniper Springs entrance. FR 33 is a hard, graded dirt road that is navigable by nearly any vehicle. Vehicles are not allowed beyond this point to the East. You can go in on foot and camp. Check the US Forest Service website for camping rules in the wilderness areas within Ocala National Forest, including how far away from trails and creeks you must set up camp. Always check current fire danger rating, you may not be allowed to have a campfire depending on conditions. You will still be allowed to use a camp stove for cooking and coffee. Take out what you take in. Be prepared and enjoy!
