“Front desk manager, Melissa, was outstanding. She is a hard worker and cares to make everything acceptable and comfortable for the guests. She deserves a raise!! Seriously, they are lucky to have her. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. They are working on updating the rooms, so there’s lots of construction, rebuilding and replacing going on...so there’s not much else to say about the rooms themselves except that you have to be OK with the inconveniences of an old hotel in 90 degree weather in the middle of renovations.”

“Reasonable rates, close to the city, but wooded and secluded. Quiet place with mostly full-timers. I have been here for a year and I really like it. Access to the Econlockhatchee River, good bass fishing! 12 wooded acres. Dog friendly. Very close to shopping and about 30 minutes to the coast. Pay your rent on time and be nice to your neighbors and you will have no problems here.”

“There are a lot of things to love about this hotel. I took off 1 star because of the condition of the elevator and stairwells. But this is a hotel I avoided staying at without ever trying it out. From the pictures I thought the rooms were too small and I got caught up in some of the negative things other reviews were saying. But the night came when it was the best deal in this area and I had no other choice but to give it a try. The rooms are cozy. I had enough room to do my yoga. Despite that they are smaller than many hotel rooms - especially kitchenettes - the layout made it highly functional. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only major improvements I would suggest is cleaning up the common areas - the laundry room, elevator, stairs - these were all dirty, but the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The free wifi works fast enough if you don't want to pay for the upgrade.”
