Fred Howard Park

Beautiful park. One of Pinellas County's jewels. Great place to park under a tree and enjoy a peaceful lunch break or find a picnic shelter and have a family cookout.
Only reason it missed 5 stars is because now you have to pay for parking at the beach and causeway areas. Sorry but that is NOT COOL or necessary.

Great place to come get some rays on the beach or just relax with some friends. If you like to fish they have fishing off of the road leading to the beach. You do have to pay for parking but it isn't bad, after all who can put a price on getting tan and having a fun day. Awesome place to visit, highly recommended!

Nice big long beach. Concessions are available. Chairs and umbrellas may be rented. Quick drop just off the beach or I would have given it a higher rating. Parking was a nightmare. Beach was very busy. Had an enjoyable day. Will go again hopefully when not quite so crowded!

It’s a nice beach. there’s limited parking but it’s usually not an issue. In the water there’s probably 100 feet of clear sand the water comes to just above your stomach (for an average persons height) - this is the west side

After that there are weeds but you can just swim over them. Sometimes there are big crabs that lurk the weeds and near the seaweed so be careful. There is a bathroom on the west side with a few showers to rinse off as well

Nice park. Beach is small and clean with lifeguards on duty. The water has a LOT of turtle grass. Bathhouse with restrooms and outdoor shower area. Ample parking. 5.00 per day. There also have paddle board,paddle boat water trikes and kayak rentals. Fun place to spend the day.
