“Beautiful place to fish or just even be outside and enjoy nature.”

“Great place to ride. Several trails, you can ride as little or as much as you want. The trails are all wide and mowed. Only one of the trails I have been on wouldn't be suitable for carts. Its the one with "shallow water" marked in the map, so avoid that one if you are driving. Mix of shade and sun with lots of water views. You must stop to check in and show your coggins, and pay a $3.00 fee per person.”

“Went here only to by propane for my forklift. That experience was fine. Great service and staff was friendly. Did not look around the park but what I did see was well kept and the place was very clean and quiet. The pool area looked clean as well. But from what I saw the place would be worth checking out if you are looking for a place to stay in your RV.”

“This is one of my favorites. Very beautiful, quiet and remote. Laser beam straight the whole way except for a very gradual bend in the middle. You may not even notice it as you enjoy the scenery. This is the flatest long rail trail you will ever ride. Most of the way is green tunnel with pretty cedar swamp to the east and cattle grazing in giant pastures as flat and green as pool tables to the west. Park at the Polk City trailhead. This is your last chance to acquire food and drink. You must bring in everything you will need. Once you pass thru the trail entrance at the north end of the parking lot the only services you will find are 2 bathrooms spaced along the way and another at the north end. There is drinking water at the bathrooms but beware. I filled my bottle at the north end and the water was brown chunky style. That's it, no store, no restaurant, no nothing. Cell service can be weak. Bring some tools, at least enough to fix a flat. But fear not! Bring the kids! You can take in just a few miles. The trail is wide, flat, paved and you won't even hear any traffic, easy and safe for young ones. Or, you can provision up and conquer the whole 58 mile round trip. The Van Fleet trail proves that central FL can be very beautiful.”

“Wow, first time in this trail after 24 years living in Polk County. There is plenty parking, break or rest areas, outstanding site seeing, good asphalt with minor little holes. Overall a place to mothers to walk the little ones on a stroller or bicycle . Outstanding job for the maintenance men or women.”

“The park itself isn't so great, it get extremely hot in the summer, there's should be some type of cover over the areas with the slides because they are impossible to go down if it's really hot outside. BUT this park hosts AWESOME events! They have parades, festivals, Halloween festivals, Christmas activities including a visit from Santa. I love the events they hold and so far everyone one I've went to was free!! There is also a state trail there for bicycling, walking, sight seeing, etc.”

“We came last year for the home school world series with our 3 sons, who played, and our 1 year old dog. The park is dog friendly, and there's a dog park a quick walk away from the fields. The trail is nice, some shade, and certainly safe. The fields are beautifully maintained. We look forward to being back in a month or so!”
