“Love, love this place!!!! We have been coming here for over 38 years before Marilyn and Pete brought it. We raised our girls coming here and it's the only place they wanted to go for vacation. You don't have to spend a lot of money for a room to have a great vacation. We Love the beach and pool. We've done the Disney, Sea World and other Orlando, St Augustine, space center attractions just stay here and go to those. We have been heart broken to hear that they have been brought out. Knew it could be coming for a long time. THANK YOU Marilyn, Pete and Chris for wonderful memories for us and our girls to share with our grandkids. Glad they got to see where mommy got to come for vacation. Want be the same in Daytona ever again.”

“What a wonderful place. The owners are so nice. We bought chickens and donated chickens and food. First visit they had just rescued a horse. He was so skinny and in need of much care. Three months later we returned and the same horse looked so so much better. You should donate.”

“My husband and I just moved here and we absolutely love it! The grounds are immaculate and all the yards are very well kept. The people are friendly, the staff is great and there are plenty of activities to stay busy if you choose to. We also like that we are so close to everything but yet the park is very quiet and private. We would highly recommend Colony In The Wood. It’s a wonderful over 55 community!”

“I am currently living here and have been living in Motels in Daytona Beach since hurricane Matthew destroyed my apartment over a year ago. Stephan and The FSM have been the best experience in what has otherwise been a terrible life lesson. The lesson is stay away from Daytona Beach Motels- but if you need to, the Famous Shores Motel is by far the best out there. Did I mention there's a pool.... And they actually keep it clean!!”

“Stayed in a cabin with screened in porch while there. The place was immaculately clean and comfortable. They provided clean lbedding (sheets, comforter & pillows), furnished kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, coffee pot & dishes. Didn't have time to enjoy the fire pit or grills but plan on doing so the next time we are here. If you're ever in this area, this is the perfect place to stay!”

“I came to this facility for training Dec 4th. I met some nice folks and got a tour of the grounds. The training was long and not at all exciting, but these fine public servants made me feel welcome and kept me entertained. These brave men and women work hard to maintain a beautiful natural environment while keeping the residents and the forests safe from wildfires. They have my utmost respect.”

“Office staff is nice. My family and I are here till the 18th through the thousand trails collection. They had a spot that had a screened in porch, we asked they gave. Then we have a 30 and the spot was a 50. They lent us the converter with no problem. The only complaint if I had one that they can't control is the sound of the train. But my husband was able to catch blue crab from the back of the RV park.”
