I have been a participant in the newly-introduced Advance Performance Center at Advance Rehab for the past several months and it has made a tremendous difference in strengthening my core and generally, just making me feel better. I have been a client of Advance Rehab Kingsland/St. Marys for the past several years following both knee and back surgeries. Like many folks my age, I pretty much won the lottery when it comes to arthritis. Arthritis is one of the most common diseases in this country. Millions of adults and half of all people age 65 and older are troubled by this disease.
However, I have found that my back strength has improved tremendously since I started the Transitional Program at Advance Rehab. The Transitional Program is exactly what it means; it is intended for the individual wanting to start an exercise program after completing a course of physical therapy.
Under the direction of Mick Janusko, DPT, Director of Sports Performance, I spend about 90 minutes twice a week, going through a series of exercises specifically developed for me by Mick. Here’s the good news; You don’t need a prescription to participate in the program and the cost is very reasonable. Give it a try!
