“This is my special place. I walk there almost everyday. Once around the trail is about 1.4 miles. There are also picnic tables, beaches, even complimentary life jackets hanging out for kids or even adults. (Please return them where you found them). Swimming areas are roped off for your safety. People often fish off the sides of the walking trails. There are swings to relax. It’s a great place. You do have to pay with a credit card to get in, $6 per car. You can also get in with your yearly pass.”

“Great park with numerous trails, playgrounds, skating bowl, soccer fields, etc. We just finished UFA soccer tournament here and it was easy to navigate.”

“Good trails for walking and little challenging for bikes but great place for family and pets. It's clean, the trail is well marked. Nice boat ramps, picnic areas with grills etc”

“One of my favorite parks with a boat ramp, plenty of places to fish, and some of the best trails by the lake. It's a popular dog-walking spot for many locals, and the sunsets are amazing here!”

“We camp here every year for a week or two. This year, we showed up unexpectedly (we arrived a day early), and the campground worked very hard to accommodate us so we wouldn't have to turn around and head somewhere else. So very nice and professional. I love it here so much. The views, the lake, we bring our bikes and kayaks and have the best time.”

“We stayed here for 1 month after we moved out from Utah while we were buying a house, and it was perfect for what we needed! The campground has a great location, close to shops, restaurants, etc... The campground itself has some really nice scenery. The lakes are pretty and the trails around either side are very fun to walk. The employees were always kind and helpful. A lot of people seem to be staying there on some sort of extended basis so it feels very friendly around the campground. There seem to be nice lakefront spots for people on shorter stays. Overall, highly recommend!”

“Really calm and peaceful spot of Lake Lanier. Drive out here was nice. Lots of shade. Grills available for bbq. Large pavilion looked great for a birthday setup. Overall a really great spot to relax. Restrooms were a little gross though.”

“We love coming here and riding the bike trail. It’s an actual mountain bike trail, not to difficult but a fun challenging 3 mile loop. Super shady, wooded and includes a fun little pump track. Beware of the grumpy man that yells at kids within 10 ft of his fence, seems harmless but is a bit intense. I suppose it’s not easy sharing a property line with a park. There are also several little playgrounds, bathrooms and good parking.”

“Our kids have improved a lot after starting there. Both Bran and Rachel are fantastic.”

“It’s $5 per car, $2 for motorcycle or pedestrian. There is a small dock. Pretty views at sunset. Depending on what the water levels are you can explore plenty by foot. Plenty of park benches and BBQ pits. There is a small beach with life jackets for kids.”

“Simple park with a short nature trail to the left and a boat ramp, dock, and nature trail loop to the right. In the middle are plenty of parking, benches, and a small wooden pavilion. I did not see a grill present. Nice sandy beach areas appear when the water levels are low. That's pretty much it.”

“We only camped one night but had a great time. The check in hosts (Trish and Will, I believe?) we extremely kind and helpful. The waterside sites are gorgeous but I would avoid the sites that back up to Buford Dam Road due to noise and lack of scenery. We were in site 7, which is quite small for a trailer. Ours is 16 feet and I would not try with something larger. Ideal for tents though. The bathrooms were clean but very minimal. No trash cans in the bathrooms, so please pack your garbage out. There are bins outside the bathroom. I did notice the dumpster was overflowing and needed to be picked up. The campground was very quiet at night, but be aware, there are houses across the lake from some of the sites. It could get noisy especially around summer holidays. We live locally and are familiar with Lake Lanier. There is lots of do here for recreation and there are stores and restaurants nearby. We will be back to Sawnee for another staycation in the future! “Great place for a little picnic or a walk or a day outdoors! We went in evening time, saw lots of hawks flying around for a meal. Saw a few folks trying to catch fish. The bathrooms are enough, though wish the garbagebins were emptied by the city as they will overflowing. It is 5$ per car for parking and card only! Also some great walking trails around.”

“This is a large park with soccer and baseball areas plus large pavilions for special events. There are walking trails and large fields for sports use. I was there for a Halloween dog event. There were alot of people there with their dogs and about 25 vendors. There is plenty of free parking available. Parking and park are handicapped friendly.”

“We love coming here to the 2 playgrounds! The one in the middle of the restaurants/businesses is more dated but geared for younger kids. There is a new one behind the field that is very, very nice and covered. It has picnic tables near, too. The new playground is more for older kids, but my (almost) 2 year old enjoyed it—I just had to watch him more carefully here as there are some places he could easily fall from and get hurt. Great playground though! And the fields are so so nice!”

“The more we visited this park, the more we appreciate having it. It's the disc golf course that draws us. We are novice disc golfers and the course allows us to challenge ourselves without being overwhelmed by the difficulty. And it's a wonderful way to take a walk in fields and meadows with occasional dips into forested areas. I think you'll enjoy a visit.”

“Great campground! Very well maintained. Sites are well leveled and spacious. Staff is very friendly. Two beaches, playground, boat launch. Great experience for novice camper. Only complaint- they sold me firewood that would just not burn, tried several fire starters, finally went to a nearby gas station to get some normal wood for the campfire.”

“Sometimes Feral animals come your way they may just pick you indirectly & simply trust you enough to ask for help. I E-mailed! the staff about a beautiful kitty mommy that was abandon by previous apartment dweller in my neighborhood. I explained to the staff I took care of the furry family as long as I could however I was desperate to find a facility that would take good care of them and find them a forever loving home. Furkids animal rescue welcomed the Fury family in with loving arms! 🐈🐾❤️ My faith in humanity has been restored. God bless such a wonderful staff with beautiful and loving welcoming hearts!”

“Loved it, would definitely recommend. The parking area is pretty spacious and the area around the lake doesn't have sitting areas, but they're clear enough so that you can set up an area for your stuff and enjoy the lake.”
