Sims Lake Park is a fantastic place to stroll through the trees, look out across the lake and play, all you have to do is make the time. Kids love the playground. There is a pavilion at the playground, a gazebo on the water. Benches all around on the paved trails. There are a over half a dozen wide open spaces to spread a blanket, play catch, or let the kids run wild. Parking may be difficult, this is a popular park. Spend a couple hours on a weekend and you may run into 3 or 4 photo shoots. There are so many photo spots photographers love it. It was also featured in the book, "Love's Destiny" by Lee Mitchell.
A quite park with a lake in the middle and very nice to take a walk by yourself or with friends. It’s only about a mile to circle the lake so it’s great for elderly or parents with young children.
Nice scenery to hike around park. The park is well maintained. The bathrooms were clean. Only saw one turtle on my walk around the lake. Lots of resting benches.
Very calm and the residents who walk around are always kind. If you'd like to see some wildlife, there is a bridge over the water where you can see large bass fish along with a bunch of turtles!
One of my favorite parks (minus the need for more parking). There is a large covered playground area, large lake (no fishing), picnic tables, lots of benches, clean restrooms, and lots of paved trails in the sun & shade. I see a lot of photographers out there doing family & graduation pictures. Lots of beautiful backdrops. Perfect to walk your dogs. They have a few poop bag stations.
