Lāʻie Falls Trail

Address: 55-261 Poohaili St, Laie, HI 96762, USA

Park

“I really loved this hike. The trail takes you through diverse land environments, which keeps things entertaining over the ~5.5-km distance (one-way). Of course, the star of the show is the falls at the end - several areas to swim. The water was a bit cold (December), but it was super refreshing after the trail. You need a permit for this hike, and it is recommended that you park at the park just before the entrance to the trail. Highly recommend!”

Mālaekahana State Recreation Area

Address: 56-020 Kamehameha Hwy, Laie, HI 96762, USA

Park

“One of my favorite hidden gems. The beach is seldom busy and beautiful. You can actually walk to the bird sanctuary island across the bay. Quite a lot of parking, bathrooms are nice and clean very comparable to others up and down the east side. Great spot for a family camp or day picnic. I’ve brought visiting friends here and they love the quiet and wonderful beach.”

Mokuauia Islet Seabird Sanctuary

Address: Laie, HI 96762, USA

Park

“Otherwise known as Goat Island. You are able to walk across to reef (low tide is best) and enjoy some time at a secluded beach. Mostly only the locals know about it. It is a rough 1/4 mile walk across, so water shoes, or even tennis shoes with thicker soles are a MUST!!”

Lāʻie Point State Wayside

Address: End of Naupaka Street, HI-83, Laie, HI 96762, USA

Park

“One of the most beautiful places for a sunrise on the island! Definitely worth the drive there. We've come here multiple times for sunrise whenever we have guests and they love it. Just remember to be respectful of the area and the residents in the neighborhood.”
