“If you are looking for a psychiatrist know that wait times for Dr. Lam often can be long; one to two hours. The secretary suggested that I call ahead to see how long is the wait. Therefore, you can try to minimize your wait time. And, yes, Dr. Lam is often late for her first appointment of the day so call ahead and bring something to occupy your time. Dr. Lam does NOT have weekend hours, either, so keep that in mind. That being said, after seeing a number of psychiatrists who see you for 15 minutes, throw you a script, and shoo you out, I would NOT change doctors. If you are in need then Dr. Lam will spend time with you. At times I have spent nearly two hours in her office. Dr. Lam takes detailed, hand written, notes, and is very compassionate. If it wasn't for her I don't know where I'd be now. Not writing this note, I'm sure. I have written a similar post about Dr. Lam on the HealthGrades web site.”
