“Always such an amazing time whenever we pull down to Buckwood! Have been tent camping here for 2 years and this is our first season with our camper. 37’er and every spot we’ve been to has been INCREDIBLY easy. If you aren’t comfortable or need help Ben literally asks every single trailer if they want help parking it whether directing or parking it for you. So incredibly sincere and sweet. It’s always a sad day Sunday morning as we pack up camp and leave this home away from home. Thank you to every single person working to make every weekend special to those who come. See you in a few weekends!”

“Parking lot for a trail head in the middle of a national Forest. Sign for Hunter check-in and trail head kiosk.”

“Why bother rating a parking lot? This is more than just a lot. This is a gateway to boating, hiking, or biking. From this lot you can take a trail that borders the lake, but is only available when the lake is at, or below pool. When the lake is high, the trail is covered with water and impassable. Even at pool, there is a section which passes through the lake, covered in a few inches of water. When the water drops lower, cyclists and hikers can continue for miles, enjoying nature. Check the lake status before you head out, and pack the waders if it has been a wet season.”

“This park was awesome. We didn't stay but just went through for something to do. Went on a hike which they clearly started was rigorous and were right. There seemed to be a lot of different options when a nature center with live snakes and turtles in it albeit small center. A gift shop on sight and lots of great views. Everything was clearly marked on the map provided”

“Super neat place to visit. It all starts with a beautiful winding road drive to get there. Lots of flowers and buzzing bees greet you as you walk up to the beautiful new visitors center. The grounds and buildings are kept up very well and the whole place is very serene, calm and quiet. Its a very popular destination not only for artists, but also writers and people looking for quiet meditation. Really enjoyed learning the history. We will visit again in the spring to be able to see all the gardens in bloom.”

“Stumbled upon this place. Very picturesque! Learned all about the artist and saw the same views he did of the countryside. Beautiful landscape and gardens. Enjoyed the hiking trails as well! Great place to go and get in touch with nature!!”

“My wife and I went on the 1-hour buggy ATV ride. Wow, what a blast! We took in the scenic fall leaves. We saw four deer. We also stopped at an 1800's ruin with only the intact chimney structure and water well still visible. Tony was our guide and he was awesome! We had to kick it into 4x4 a few times. Highly enjoyable and highly recommended. We would go again when in the area.”

“Nice campground inside the brown county state park. Not much shade for the campgrounds but it was nice and quiet. Just what we needed. Bathrooms need a little cleaning love but its camping.”

“Excellent loop trail. Single track the entire length. Shaded throughout. There are several small, easy stream crossings throughout. These make nice water breaks for your furry friends which are allowed on this trail when leashed. Very interesting trail. Lots of ravines to loop around as well as ups and downs throughout. There are also several man made wells that have protective fence around them, and a couple of small, man made ponds. Very enjoyable hike. Only a couple of small wet areas to navigate. I'm sure that varies by the weather, but overall it should have good drainage.”

“Great hosts, super helpful. Meticulously cleaned bathrooms and pool. Pretty level sites. There is a pretty good hill coming up to the campground. Very quiet. I've read some of the other reviews about small sites, and I can't see it. We're 32' and fit easily in one of the smaller back in sites. I have seen a couple of folks who don't have a clue about driving or parking a camper have some trouble, to the point where the host was literally telling the guy how to turn his wheel and when to brake. Where I'm sitting I can see a 40' class A with slides on both sides parked in a pull through with ample room in both sides. Just an example. WiFi is great, plenty fast. Highly recommend this campground.”
