“I loved bringing the kids here when they were younger and I lived in Lawrence. There was always something fun for them to do inside and out. They loved this community center! When I move back this summer I plan to make use of their facilities again with their little cousins. I love the outdoor playgrounds, the open fields and the baseball diamonds. When the weather is bad the kids would play air hockey and racquetball in the gym. It's one of Lawrence's gems that everyone should take advantage of.”

“It is a great neighborhood park. The downside for the park is it doesn't has a lot of shaded spots. It is fine during the cooler weather. It is very horrible during the hot summer that we usually has. Be careful when you took your younger child or children there during the summer. Some equipment might be really heat up. Making sure you exam them all when you let go your child to play inside the play ground.”

“One of our favorite parks! Has four basketball goals on a court, a full-size tennis court, beautiful history to the park if you take time to read the sign, located in the historic neighborhood plenty of room for the children to walk around and play. Pathways of beautiful flowers, water fountain in park bench. The surrounding neighborhood is gorgeous, the original oread house is within view of the park as worded on the plaque. We absolutely love Veterans Park!”

“This park was absolutely beautiful. It was well picked up, no trash laying around or overage of leaves/limbs. There was a small play area for children & 2 picnic tables. No public restroom or shelter area tho. Also no electricity/plug-ins.”

“Good little riverside park. Good views and trails just a short drive from mass street. I played the disc golf course, which is easy to find and a decent little course. 9 holes with two baskets on each. The have each basket numbered 1-18. I only played through once, so the front 9. It seemed the second time through would have been a little harder”
