“Well it was just so nice! A hometown restaurant with really good food and the dinner portions were much larger than we were used to. I mean, when you get a catfish strips dinner with sides of house salad and potato salad, you expect a small bowl of three item salad and a 1/2 cup of potato salad. My heavens! the potato salad was filling a big soup bowl, and my salad was layers in a big pasta bowl. The catfish was crunchy, sweet, not greasy, and filled a 10-inch plate. Husband had a cheese burger with onion rings piled up. Said it would have been best if they used Duke's instead of miracle whip for the mayo. Oh, we thought we needed a starter, so we ordered fried mushrooms, delicious, but oh so many. Had to bring most of everything home for later. Definitely will be back!”

“Despite having heard poor comments about Captain Hook's for a while, we decided to give them a chance, and VERY pleasantly surprised. I had the fried fish and shrimp while my better half had the fish. The portions were LARGE and both the fish and shrimp were hand breaded, the fries fresh cut, the hush puppies excellent, and the cocktail sauce fresh mad also. I don’t know if the tartar sauce was made in house, but was good, also. On the whole, a very tasty, plentiful, and economical meal. I hope this goes to dispelling their rep. We'll DEFINITELY be going back!!”

“This restaurant is 110% legit! All the food was made hot fresh and the service was with a huge smile! Had Al pastor, lengua and Birra tacos all of which were delicious. “So, they're not shut down, they're temporarily located in the Conference Center building. I was there today for lunch for the first time, and I think I would have missed it except a friend with me had been before. Service was incredibly friendly. I'm not a fan of buffets, but the food was really quite good. I've recently changed my eating habits and this place was making me wish I hadn't. Fried fish, pork chops, mashed potatoes, fried zucchini, a fantastic salad bar, and the desserts looked wonderful. For $12 I don't think it could be beaten.”

“Taqueria El Pelón is one of the best places in the Carrollton area to grab some quick, delicious tacos. I have been going here a few times a month since they have opened up to get my taco fix. Presentation is always 💯, customer service is always top notch, if they are busy it might take a little longer but you know that the quality is 💯. Everything I have gotten from Taqueria El Pelón has been nothing but fantastic and left me craving for more. In my opinion, the green salsa serves with their food is what gives the food ✨razzle dazzle✨, and at this point I can’t eat anything without it, however I have and the tacos are just as if not even more delicious. If you are in the Carrollton area, they are well worth the drive, and you will not regret it. This small business deserves way more than 5 stars in my opinion. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
