“I’ll start by saying my hot brown looked nothing like the picture- but it was still great tasting- so oh well! This restaurant is a gem for this area because there are few other places outside Lexington where you can get high quality eats like this. The menu had plenty of options and the atmosphere was also good. It was surprisingly busy too- which was a welcome sight. We got the hot brown and then a vinaigrette salad with blackened fish. We were surprised at how much fish they actually gave us- but also how little hot brown we got. No issues though because we shared and it was more than enough for both of us. Again, the quality of food (pretty much not being the normal fried whatever) was welcome and this will be a definite repeat for us.”

“My husband is not a huge pizza fan. He proclaimed that the pizza here was the best pizza he has ever had. (Trust me: I've made him try a few.) He crafted his own with pepperoni, sausage, and roasted garlic. It was pretty terrific. I opted for the Fresca, which had most of the vegetables with an alfredo base. As a traditionalist, I chose a marinara base instead of the recommended alfredo. But, either would have been terrific. We loved it. They are generous with the topping and the brick oven crust was truly terrific.”

“This place is very old school, and those kind of places generally make the best stuff. The burger was pretty good but what definitely sold me were the crinkle cut french fries. I don't know what makes those taste better but they always do, and only from a restaurant. I've tried to bake them at home or even deep fat fry them but they never taste as good as they do from a restaurant, probably because of all the other fried foods that leave a little flavor in the fryer. Anyways, the place was pretty good and reasonably priced, and since I'm a big fan of supporting local businesses I'll definitely come back again.”
