“This was my first time at Philay's and everything was absolutely amazing! I had a shrimp and lima bean baked potato that was so creamy and delicious. My friend had shrimp alfredo with a side of mashed sweet potatoes. She said she never had a meal she enjoyed so much. She had been there before a long time ago and said that the food was "definitely better on a whole new level". (her words) Our server, Julienne, was sweet, attentive, helpful and knowledgeable. “The property is beautiful. You could take 2-3 hrs just enjoying the gardens. The house furnishings are amazing and a must see. The tour guide did a great job telling the history and answering our questions. The oak trees are massive and the grounds are covered with these beauties. Walk up to the river to get a good view of what they would have seen before the levee was built. I highly recommend Houmas House and Gardens.”
