Cressy House Bed & Breakfast

A friend of mine booked a room at crecy house on coffee Street in Mandeville one block off the lake a few weeks ago. He stayed only one night and we hung out in his room for a couple hours after drinking at a local bar and walking up and down the lake. The location is ideal, the house and grounds are well-kept, the rooms are very big and spacious yet cozy and the bathroom was shoes with a big jacuzzi tub and lots of closets. Here's the odd thing that I've seen no one else complained all but the closets were filled with the owners clothes and wedding dresses Etc. This is very odd and I believe to be very unprofessional considering what people pay for these rooms. Of course we didn't touch anything but it felt very uncomfortable to go inside a man's room and open the closet and they are filled with women's clothes and ball dresses and a huge wedding dress inside. Really? They can't afford to have those items are loaned or put in an attic or special storage area but instead leave them inside the guest private room. Again for what you pay I should be able to use every inch of closet space allowed and not have to have to share it with the owner. Just very weird but otherwise the mini-fridge was stalked and there was a basket of chips to snack on and we brought our own wine and watch TV. It was a nice way to end the evening but I did not sleep over but my friend did and said it was a nice fine. So at this point 4 out of 5 stars and I stay in mini bed and breakfasts and Villas worldwide.

The Cressy house is a gracious grand retreat just steps away from Lake Ponchartrain in Mandeville Louisiana. For my first visit, I chose to stay in the Ponchartrain room which features a queen size bed private bathroom with bath and shower, mini fridge coffee maker antique wardrobe AT&T U-verse and my own air conditioning heating unit.
The pillow top bed was delightful and provided one of the best nights rest I've had in weeks! My favorite feature is the beautiful deck and patio where I could sip my coffee and look at the Spanish moss draped oak trees and glimpse the sparkling lake in the distance.

My hosts were so kind and generous. They offer the main part of the home for common areas where we can dine or have breakfast or just sit around and talk.
If you're inclined, and trained – you could regale the hosts or other guests with piano playing in the great room on the beautiful grand piano.
But if you choose privacy – no problem! Your room has its own entrance, it's own stairway and even its own elevator. You can completely escape from the hustle and bustle of your life at the Cressy House. It's just the right amount of quiet with options for activity, if you want it.
I highly recommend Cressy House for your bed-and-breakfast day in Mandeville, Louisiana!

We stayed there for a short getaway and found the facility and our hosts very inviting. There is a lot to see and do in the area and they made sure that we knew where to go. Cressy House is just 200 feet from Lake Ponchartrain where you will see beautiful sunsets across this 24 mile wide lake, and sunrises as well if you are an early riser which we are not. The waterfront offers a scenic place to stroll, enjoy the view and people watch. David and Laura Cressy are very welcoming and we felt like old friends before we left. The room came with a very comfortable bed, private bath, delicious home made muffins and a fabulous jar of marmalade from her sister-in-law's kitchen. You will enjoy yourself at Cressy House. We will definitely go back.

The hosts are so kind and generous! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Azalea Room. Our favorite part was sitting among the live oak trees to have our morning coffee on our own private deck.
