A lovely place to stay. It was quiet and relaxing, Michael made our stay totally stress free and gave us excellent food advice! The room was like being at home, great local coffee too!
My husband and I stayed here on our wedding night, and I just loved it so much I recommended it to my mom and family for my mom’s birthday celebration and stayed again for that. It is secluded, clean, decently priced (especially for the location), charming, right next door to my favorite breakfast place, and Michael (the owner) does a great job making sure everyone is comfortable and has what they need. He really makes you feel at home, too!! It’s a block away from my favorite place the Mandeville lakefront. Almost all of the activities that we did were walking distance. It’s fun to just sip your coffee on the front porch swing and relax. There are so many restaurants, shops, and he’s got some bikes you can use which we enjoyed riding on the Trace, to the Farmer’s Market, and to Pelican’s Snoballs. I don’t live in Mandeville anymore which is my home town, but everything was just SO nostalgic to me! When we come visit the area and want to get away I will always keep this place in mind. Thank you so much Michael great job!!!
If your travels take you to Southeast Louisiana, be sure to allow some time on the north shore of Lake Potchetrain. And while there, spend at least a night or two at the Mar Villa Guest House. This place is a true gem, only a block away from the lake and within walking distance of wonderful dining. The rooms reflect the style of the architecture of the area and are clean and comfortable. Open air porches with comfy wicker furniture provide a place to relax and have an evening during or the first cup of coffee in the morning. Can't wait to return!
Great place to stay in Mandeville. Key West style hotel. Rooms are immaculately clean. Comfortable bed. Michael is a congenial guy who will point you in the right direction for food or drinks. Located in the center of old Mandeville allows you to walk to the bars restaurant and sites. Bike rental is across the street and the trail is only a couple blocks away.
The rooms are clean, small (yet very appropriate for the area), and the owner is great! The shower had great water pressure and temp. The TV is small, but if you get out and enjoy this little town you won't need it. This area is a get out and enjoy it, not a IH10 don't leave the room so it needs a big TV area!
Well worth the money, we will return again!
