“Museum is good on local F county fire history. Be sure to visit and support the National Fire Heritage Center which shares this space. Call for hours. Emmitsurg is known as FIRETOWN USA and really lives up to its reputation! If you visit Gettysburg, drive south 13 miles on Rt 15 and spend some time in Firetown! No visit should be complete without visiting The National Fallen Firefighters Memorial on the National Fire Academy campus. Truly. FIRETOWN USA!!!”

“Lovely little museum with a good deal of historic detail. The train model is totally awe-inspiring. I was amazed to see my current city and nearby towns in a miniature form with a bird's eye view! A must visit if you're visiting Harper's Ferry, Brunswick or Frederick.”

“Step into the 1860s when you cross the well-worn threshold and visit this store frozen in time. Whether you're looking for a period hat or shirt (they've got `em), a hand-made broom, authentic to the era, or something else entirely, this "Dry Goods & Mercantile" store has something to interest just about anyone. And, if you've got an interest in the local history, make sure you have some time before you mention that since you'll get a delightful telling of all sorts of events that took place just around the corner or up the road a piece.”

“Nice history lesson for the kids. They can play with old toys and dollhouse. Loved all the authentic historic pieces they've collected in the kitchen. You can take a guided tour or self guided. Loved the carriage barn and the ice house. The blacksmith shop is not always part of the tour, but it was this day. Really enjoyed it. The grounds and gardens were a little messy, probably due to so much rain. Will take the children there again.”

“This is a great little gem hidden in the middle of Frederick. It's a great museum about life in revolutionary and pre-civil war Frederick. Its great for kids and has a ton of toys and other items for them to play with. We went late in the season and got a personal tour since we were the only people there. They also have various events through the summer, which sounded fun, although we didn't get to experience them.”

“Absolutely the best interactive children's playhouse, museum and learning center I've ever been too! My nieces had a blast and after 3 hours, we still hadn't done everything they have to offer! Ellen was the best and we will definitely be back very soon.”
