“We got into the park through the parking lot at East West Park, and boy was I impressed! It’s not in the best shape of its life at the moment, but hopefully after construction it is easier to keep the trail and meadow in top condition.”

“Love this place! Chris and Jules are wonderful and so helpful. We have picked up many fun metal art pieces for the yard and garden over the last several years. Highly recommend!”

“This was an absolutely amazing experience for me. I'm so glad I went. So blessed that they sent me an invitation to this weekend that honored my husband and 102 other fallen firefighters. This cannot possibly have been any better! My honor guards/escorts were wonderful! Thank you, Chris and Richard. I will miss you! Hope to see you next year!”

“Every year it is my sister and my tradition to attend the Thurmond Colorfest. We always have a great time. It takes place at the Thurmont park which is a gorgeous park in the fall when the leaves change color. Well worth the trip. Kids play grounds and pet friendly.”

“BEAUTIFUL. Go, even if you don't like hiking. Just take the lower falls trail if you're not a big hiker , the cliff trail can get a little intense.”

“We love love love to park here and hike as a family, with our 4 kids under 5. It is super accessible even for our little ones and the waterfalls do not disappoint. We always pack a snack or lunch to eat once we reach the falls and will always wear 2 children to make it a little easier on the little ones. You do have to take all your trash with you at this park, no trash cans. Only porter potties in the off season. We love to visit the playground after our hike and it is so close to this parking lot as is the beach of the lake our kids love to skip rocks on and throw sticks at.”

“We were camp host last season. We are back for a visit, tenting for the first time. Great people, love the park. We are visiting Md. Parks for a couple weeks. All are beautiful. N&VHitchens”

“We love it ! Not far from Washington DC, the route to get in there is beautiful it’s even an overlook on the way. The trails range from all types and the handicap trail is perfect for the kids. Even though we did the easy trail which was easy enough and beautiful all the way through. Unfortunately, the end isn’t parallel with the waterfall and it’s no way to see the front, it’s blocked off with signs and a fence. I’m not sure which trail leads to the front of the waterfall but I figure once my kids are older we can try again.”

“Great great place for the kids to have a blast and completely free. They do have a contribution box and it is worth a donation. Take some wax paper with you if you're kids are older. The little ones will have a great time too. You actually might want to give it a try yourself.”

“My grandsons and great granddaughter had a blast. The wooden slide was so much fun that even the two year old would take our fingers and go right back up. Right next to the big slide is a very nice playground so you can watch out for kids on the slide and the playground at the same time. It is totally run by donations.”
