“Great effort in preserving history of Montgomery's dairy farms. Better for kids who are 7 years and older if you really want then to take something away from the place in terms of learning. Lots of models of cows, bull, train tracks, equipment such as for butter churning, etc. They have a playroom for toddlers and a craft room for older children.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Sandy Spring Slave Museum during its open house. All the artifacts and art (related to slave history, American history and families of the Sandy Spring community) are carefully and artistically laid out with explanatory notes and some recordings. There are two floors and a few small structures just outside with more artifacts. The upper level of the main building is spacious and renovated. Time well spent!”

“While the inside of this museum was a little underwhelming your entrance fee pays for a trip on an actual trolley through the woods! The ride itself was 100% worth the cost of admission! There is a miniature set up of a town with a working trolley and lights that the kids can turn off and on. Since we were there at Christmas time there was also a "Santa's Garden" set up with two train sets that were running. Both the trolley and train sets are closed off so the children can not touch them. I will definitely go back to visit this as my son LOVED the trolley ride.”

“This is not a typical museum with items under glass and do not touch signs. Beyond the interesting art work and on-site artists at work in their studios, it has wonderful wonderful programs and presentations in a relaxed atmosphere. The programs are quite varied and exceptional given this is a small museum.”

“I volunteered at the nature center for many years through middle and high school. I returned to bring my daughter in for the experience. This place is great and always has been. A few changes have been made for the better but it's still a great place to bring your kids and learn about the environment and the species that inhabit it!”

“The Glenstone made me a fan of modern art. Something I believed to be impossible. This museum is nothing I had ever seen before. The museum only admits around 200 people per day and you can enjoy the artwork without the crowding. They're no barriers between you and the art. So you can really take it. None of the work has descriptions next to them, but each room has a "guide" that will be more than happy to provide more information. I will definitely be coming back the wait is worth it!! Please note they will not admit children under 12. As some material is sensitive. Which they clearly say on the website. I saw a family turned away so this rule is inforced.”

“A little hole in the wall treasure hiding behind Walter Reed. Friendly and educated docents with interesting exhibits on the medical aspects of war. Our crowd favorites were the amputated leg with elephantiasis and the actual bullet and skull fragments of Abe Lincoln. We participated in a top notch (and FREE!) teen workshop where the kids got to use modern forensic skills to analyze actual evidence in a real identification case from the Vietnam War. Definitely a place worth exploring if You and Yours have any interest in wartime medicine!”
