“This is solid, old-school diner/restaurant that is delightful to know still exists. The attraction for us was southern Maryland stuffed ham available for breakfast. Stuffed ham is unique to southern Maryland and there are slight variations between Charles and St Mary's counties. It is a large ham, stuffed with greens, typically kale, and spiced with mustard, pepper, etc.. The ham is boiled, traditionally and the greens stuffing is layered within the ham by stuffing it in pockets cut in the ham. Sounds unusual but I guarantee its tastiness. This place has large rooms for catering and a full service bar.”

“Rita's is a real treat. We take the kids for some Gelati's sometimes after soccer practice. The people are always great, and the treats really hit the spot. They sell Italian Ice treats as well as old fashion frozen custard. The Italian ice is like a more frozen version of a slurpee, and the custard is a richer, smoother, more satisfying version of Ice Cream. They are only open during the summer so make sure you stop by and try them while you can.”

Most people only imagine Diary Queen being good for their ice cream, blizzards, treats, milkshakes, etc. But, on the contrary I've ordered a chicken sandwich from there multiple time and have always enjoyed the grilled or crispy chicken sandwich.
