“Out of town for wedding and needed great coffee for 5. They graciously loaned me a carafe for the morning of some of the best coffee around here. Going the extra mile for a complete stranger, these guys are the best! Make the effort to go a little further for something special in the morning. You guys are the best!!”

“A nice restaurant in a very old building, I believe the building was here in 1675! I had scallops which came out in a generous portion, piping hot, and flavorful. The server did everything well and the overall experience was relaxing. My only minor critique is that we sat in the booth where the leather padding was torn up and in definite need of replacing.”

“Love the food! Our family recently descended upon the restaurant (15 adults and 2 kids!) and enjoyed scallops, clams, lobsters and oysters. And lots of onion rings! It was fantastic. Better than Woodman's.”

“This is a hot dog stand, sometimes with other savory items like grilled cheese sandwiches or grilled ruebens. It doesn’t pretend to be anything more than what it is, which is why it is great. Pork/beef, all-beef, and veggie dogs. If you’re looking for a decent dog on a buttery, grilled bun, at a fair price, then this is the hot dog stand for you, my friends! Fast, friendly service, too!”

“The Lobster Trap put together a wicked nice party for my work's holiday party. Everyone was very pleased and the food was very fancy. These are people that typically have very high expectations, so I think that says a lot actually. I didn't realize this function hall existed. It's very large and much nicer than I was thinking it would be while looking at the website. The view is also very nice, as you can see from the oceanside photo, and there's loads of parking, as you can also see in the photo.”

“The coffee is good here. Not sure why others reviewing the bathroom situation since this is a cafe business. It’s a well placed Dunkin’ Donuts when you need a fix between Ipswich and Gloucester.”

“After long wait on line outside, had the perfect clam chowder with large serving of whole clams, potatoes, without the thick cream. Combo fried plate was also perfection. Pricey. Narrow bench seating. Great.”

“Amazing absolutely amazing! Staff, cook everyone was super, the food was excellent I had the lobster roll cold coleslaw and fries my husband had chowder and broiled shrimp. Best meal we had in Boston all week. Wish King George Virginia Wasn't So Far Away makes take out a little hard????????”

“Just what you want in a local sub shop. Food is very good and the staff is friendly. Menu is what you'd expect, pizza, subs, salads, wraps and a good selection of side orders. If you are looking for seafood, keep driving. There are a number of seafood restaurants near by that are very good (Farnhams just east on the river and The Causeway a mile further down the road in Gloucester). All-in-all, Cape Ann Pizza & Subs is great quick lunch or perfect takeout for the motel after a day at the beach. I give it ????????????????for convenience and quality!”

“What looks like another fried food place on the outside is actually New American style dining on the inside. In a casual atmosphere, delicious food is cooked from a menu that surprises. I had the "Haddock Provencal", a beautiful piece of fish prepared with pureed Mediterranean veggies and baby red potatoes. Every bite was a treat. They also has a fabulous brunch menu of egg items -- and I saw a burger or two go by, So they seem to have something for everyone, and the service was excellent. As the place is on the small size, reservations are recommended.”

“We went here for the first time since it was bought and changed from Periwinkles. Our experience from the time I called and made the reservation (Deanna you were just wonderful) to the end of the meal, everything was just great. We love the new decor, furnishings and atmosphere. Much brighter too! We started with the friend clams and only wish I had taken a picture before we all chowed them done! Sweet and just melted in your mouth! An interesting and loved addition was the grilled lemon half that we squirted over the clams. My sister and I will both be grilling half lemons in the future. Everyone truly enjoyed their dishes from baked haddock, scallop casserole, korean scallop dish I can't spell and the Hanger steak. We finished with the seasonal dessert which was an amazing individual round carrot cake (really feeds at least 2/3)with walnuts all around the outside. Our service was impeccable and the owner even stopped by to say hello. I highly recommend going in for a great meal and a good time!”

“Joe is the best!! My husband and I visited the village last Sunday afternoon after a baby shower. He was very attentive, informative, and equally charming. I had the onion soup, and my husband had the fried clams, both were OUTSTANDING. We will definitely be back this week, and we will be requesting Joe again.”

“Cozy, delicious large portions ensuring you will take some home. Drinks were well done and a great selection of local and craft beers. Nice recovery as when we 1st got there it was at the height of insanity. Our patience paid off. We will definitely go back but time and for the non peak hours.”

“Best pizza and subs in the area! Also great service! I’ve been going there for years and I keep coming back for more.”

“Was my 1st time there. Went w/2 friends who suggested the Boat House Grille because of their amazing salads (all 3 of us are watching our weight). I got the Rockport Pear Salad & it didn’t disappoint, wow! Fresh, delicious, just right. One of them got same thing but w/steak tips & she said they were the best she’s ever had. The other one got the Spinach Salad which she’d had before & just loves. We split the Fried Brussels Sprout appetizer (a 1st for all of us) & the flavor, texture & portion of that dish was spectacular.”
