“An unassuming hidden gem in suburban Massachusetts. Gropius designed his own personal residence to showcase all the design principles that the Bauhaus school stood for. The tours conducted here do a nice job of providing historical context and there's a tiny shop at the front visitor desk.”

“On a 40 degree day in January we were still able to appreciate the expansive grounds deCordova sits on. The indoor exhibits were interesting, though I felt myself wishing the decor called back the time period of the deCordova castle similar to the way things are handled for the interior of the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum. We kept seeing pictures of how parts used to look, but then a garden patio would be bare or a room would be white-walled to look like an exhibit hall, not a room in a castle. It was a little muddy in places due to recent weather but the views ranged from pretty to breathtaking as we moved from one outdoor installation to the next.”

“Hiking through the woods today with our dog Sadie, never before on this trail when we noticed this tree growing between two huge rocks. Noticed a plaque on one of the rocks under the snow; once we removed the dusting reveeled Aureet's memorial. Said Kaddish, left a stone. Stunned to see the date of her tragic loss was 26 years ago today.”

“The Pierce House was the perfect venue for our August wedding. My husband and I were looking for a wedding venue with both indoor and outdoor areas which could accommodate 150 guests. the Pierce house far exceeded our expectations. Nancy, the house manager, is lovely to work with. She helped coordinate vendors and deliveries, and was so helpful day-of moving the ceremony into the tent and the buffet into the house to accommodate the rainy weather. The house itself is beautiful. We were able to hang family photos throughout. The dressing rooms were light filled and made for good pictures! There were so many spaces where people ended up sitting and talking late into the night. The tent is also beautiful with the fairy lights, and we had no trouble fitting all our guests inside with room to spare. Importantly for us, we were able to use the vendors we wanted, and brought our own alcohol. I highly recommend the Pierce house for any wedding!”

“This is really nice trail, please note - trail, LOL... The tavern looks gorgeous, wish I could stay for a beer, but is not currently open, maybe ran out of wine, beer and food supplies ... 150-200 years ago ;)”
