This is a great park for stargazing. It's a quite rustic site great for a getaway.
Camping:
If there is a trailer Dump station, I didn't find it, that is the only thing keeping this from a 5 star review.
No cell service. Some of the electrical boxes are 50+/- feet from where you would park your camper or set up the tent.
I was able to reserve a spot on Saturday night, a couple days out. But the campground was full when we arrived.
There is solid greenery between most sites, but many Inner loop sites back to each other, ones on 26-50 inner loop are best for groups. The sites are good sized.
No bad spots, just spots for different needs.
The whole lake is "no wake", people seemed to be respecting the rule.
Great place awesome fishing, great kayak. And you can either take an RV or a Tent. And all the employees are polite knowledgeable about the area a lot of good stuff to do while you're there. A great place to take the family.
Nice place. Bit disappointed at the fact the map shows site 36 entrance facing north, when in fact it faces west. High difference where the sun is concerned. Enjoyed the camping night sounds. Patrons were pleasant during my stay. Kids would need to bring their own entertainment as I looked around (pavilion, boat launch, beach area, and 1-50 campsites) and saw nothing more than a volleyball net and vault toilets. Beach area is large enough to host a large family reunion, but bring extra tables and chairs for that. Trees are still growing so bring something to shade yourself in the beach area. Leashed dogs are welcomed. Dogs cannot swim in designated patron area. Beach is not so close to campsites, so be prepared to walk a bit, or you will drive approximately a mile to beach area. Only one water pump in camp area. Website has detailed map. No wake lake which is perfect for fisherfolk. If you like explore and do plant recognition this park is great. Hope it helps. Enjoy.
Loved the camp sites. Clean cheap with electric. Allowed dogs. Loved that. Fished caught a huge carp! And love that it's a dim light zone so you can see all the stars at night.
