Holly Recreation Area Organizational Campground

Really nice campground. Lots of trees. Wooded..

This is our family's goto campground. The kids love the playgrounds and I love the natural surroundings.

This Campground is where McDermott Estates was located between 1969-1974. Our family purchased the property after our Father died in 1969. We lived there beginning in 1958 and attended school in Ortonville, Mi. there was a total of 80 acres owned by the state that included Wildwood Lake, that bordered our property to McGinnis Road. our property bordered Wildwood Road McGinnis Road and If you notice a faint line to the spring fed Lake. As kids groing up we worked a garden the size of a football field, we fished what is now Oakland County Parks and Recreation by Grange Hall Road and McGinnis Road. Doctor Matthews owned that property and Was converted to the present day Park by Jackie Wilson (/Harmon/Lucas) about 1963 and installed first Juke Box. 18 pt. Bucks, white tail, snow shoe rabbitt, pheasants and Turkeys, large mouth Bass, perch, Northern Pike, Muskie, Cat Fish, plenty to keep a country boy busy year round.

Love this campground! Lots of trees, wonderful people! Very quite at night even on weekends!!!! Great place for family or even a nice place for a romantic couple! Can't wait to go back. Love jojo
