“Manuela is an excellent teacher! My son has enjoyed taking lessons from her for over a year now. I love that she organizes piano recitals and competitions. It gives our son motivation to always be striving for his best and he is always working on something to share. “I have been at the Roeper School since i was in 4th grade. I am now a seventh grader. Roeper is a special place where students are encouraged to express themselves the way they would like to. Students are given plenty of room to grow as a unique individual. The teachers are kind and extremely supportive. The athletic teams are mediocre, but do teach teamwork and allow students to enjoy themselves. The vast majority of students have a high IQ level. I highly recommend this school.”

“Our girls (4th & 2nd Grade) have been attending OCS for 5 years now and we could not be happier! They are enrolled in the Spanish Immersion Program, and even though my husband and I do not speak fluent Spanish, we are so pleased to see how quickly they are picking up the langauge! Of course their specials classes are in English, and this program is optional (they have English classrooms at every grade level too), but we love it! Everyone at OCS is so kind; it is like a big family!”

“Expressions Music Academy has made such a huge impact in my granddaughter’s music experience. I have been so impressed by how much they have all improved in such a short amount of time. I contribute their improvement to the stellar professionals teaching all the various disciplines. I have a granddaughter in piano with Miss Erin, guitar with Miss Julia, ukulele with Mr. Oliver, and animal adventures with Miss Abey. Each one has throughly loved their time and so enjoy showing me all their progress each week. I have the joy of taking them to their lessons to help my daughter and I always enjoy the time I get to spend at the academy. The staff are all so pleasant and I really enjoy trying their large selection of coffee and tea. Always so delicious! “We have loved our time at TCP, both my children have gone through the program and I can't imagine a better place to send my kids for preschool. Great teachers, wonderfully run classrooms, caring environment for their first "experience" at school. I loved being involved in the classroom and working closely with other parents and the teachers. “It's not horrible but it's not amazing either, there's band class and after school football and drum line, drama club, and they give u many choices to eat at lunch, compared to most schools I've been to, this one is way better. The teachers are kind of lazy although they still do their job, many half days and dress your way days, I've never gotten bullied, and when I seen someone get bullied, it was handled very professionally. The entire school is run effectively, with emphasis at all levels for a comprehensive, enriching educational experience. Communication between room teachers and parents is fantastic, they eagerly work on developmental concerns you may have and work as a team. There was a waiting list when we first contacted them and we definitely see why, it's a phenomenal program. Trust, security, safety and standards...they have it all.”

“We have had a great experience at the Center. Our son was diagnosed with Autism several months ago and they recommended ABA Intensive Therapy. We spoke to many centers and toured two of them. We chose North Oakland because it was more of a preschool/kindergarten environment, they have a playground area and everything for the kids. I interviewed the director of the school, she was very competent and enthusiastic about helping the kids. Our son has been there two months and is developing at a rapid pace. He is doing really well overall, he really likes the school. The staff is friendly and excited about our son's progress almost as much as we are! “Words can not express how my daughter has thrived at Oakland Children’s Academy. The teachers, staff and administration are exceptional, loving, caring and personally invested in the student's growth. The school provides a child centered environment that is driven by a desire to meet the specific educational needs of the child. Each child is able to work at a pace that supports their own developmental needs, therefore, building self-esteem and a lifelong love of learning. I love that the non-traditional approach to learning allows my child to start her day with hands-on work that she loves, while also being challenged to explore and possibly master things she may not be as comfortable with trying. And lastly she LOVES going to school and is growing and learning rapidly, and is having fun doing it! It's been a wonderful experience. We highly recommend OCA.”
