“This is a great little park located right by a church which made me feel that much safer visiting. It has an eco-conscious splash pad that you have to power on every 10 minutes or so (a big plus, in my opinion). We spent most of our time at the splash pad. The water collects at about an inch. There are jets that spray water, a bucket that empties when full, and a "shower" that sprinkles water. There's a playground nearby and a swing set around the corner. Unfortunately, if you bring several kids who want to play in different areas, keeping an eye on all of them will be challenging. Those two areas are mulch-laden. From what I could see, there were no BBQ pits or picnic tables nearby, just some benches.”

“Great place for a walk between ponds and the river. Follow the trail all the way and cross a small creek or two, see some wildlife (herons, vultures, geese, ducks, otters, etc.) and just spend some time in nature.”

“Warming house wasn't open, the bench looked like it might fall apart, be careful the ice was really rough by the bench when we went January 10th 2021”

“This is my favorite dog park in the whole metro! We've been coming here for years; a blast for humans and pups alike, all year round. Great for moderate to leisurely exercise, and there's always plenty of dogs to play with! Wonderful water facilities (seasonal), accessible dumpsters, and portable restrooms. It even rarely gets muddy! Parking is occasionally an issue in the warmer months, but there's plenty of street parking in this low-traffic area. There's even a reasonably sized secluded area for small, elder, and dogs with different needs! Overall, this large, entirely fenced-in, off-leash park is a doggy paradise!”

“Went for the fireworks. The fireworks were awesome. The crowd was well behaved and traffic was well controlled. The only problem was in trying to leave, you have to fight to get out of your parking spot. There were traffic officers at the end of each aisle in the parking ramps that offered free parking. This was wonderful, because I didn't see many public parking areas. So hats off to the parking ramp owners for offering the free parking.”

“A very nice park. Two playgrounds for two different ages. A nice pond that sometimes is very algae covered. Non-swimming. Two areas for playing baseball, not kept up after the season. A warming house for the winter. Two hockey rinks and a massive ice area for skating with lights. Decent sledding areas.”

“Small park close to the hotel we were staying at. Since the kids couldn't go to the pool due to covid we took them to the park to burn off some energy. Small park but everything in good repair and on some quiet neighborhood roads. Highly recommend.”

“Beautiful park along the Minnesota River. Hiked there along 9 mile creek which is a great hike. You feel like you are in the wilderness even though you are in an urban area. Saw a huge wild snapping turtle near the river. I estimate it was 60 to 70 years old. Highly recommend!”

“the dictionary defines a park as: a large public green area in a town, used for recreation, or an area of land, usually in a largely natural state, for the enjoyment of the public, having facilities for rest and recreation, often owned, set apart, and managed by a city, state, or nation. this place meets and exceeds all of my expectations for what a park is. i have so much fun here and i can’t recommend it enough. if you have EVER thought about visiting this park I think you should do it!”

“I have lived in the twin cities metro area for over 40 years. this is the first time I have ever seen the the Normandale Japanese Garden. It's a peaceful and tranquil location. There is no charge to get in. There are cute little bridges and nice overlooks for the little lake or pond. It's a great location to take family or senior photos.”

“The inside & outside of the Nature Center is full of great displays and cool interactive for young & old alike. Along some of the trails there are little learning signs about the different trees. We hiked one trail which was a little rugged for elders and stroller pushing, but it felt truly like a Nature Walk. It is close to the City but you think you are way out in the country side. Rolling grasslands, forests, bogs. Parking was ample. Pretty wide trails for social distancing. Winter time they groom it for winter activities. Great place to get outside with kids.”
