“Very cool history abut the Witches Hat Water Tower. And amazing views of the sunset!”

Joanne R. Levin Park

Address: 1600 W 26th St, Minneapolis, MN 55405, USA

Park

“Fun little park, though my kids were a little young for the cool climbing bump things. Bees/wasps were all over the hot sand so we needed to avoided the sand in general. A few tables under tree shade which was nice for a picnic. Favorite play thing was the bouncy seesaw thing and the little car left by neighbors.”

Northeast Park

Address: 1615 Pierce St NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413, USA

Park

“The baseball diamonds are in great shape, the water park is outstanding (gated though, not free}, the new kids playground is small but well done, and the open fields leave a lot of room to roam and play soccer. The softball/kickball fields are minimalistic and I don't have any information on the restrooms, as I have never been in them. Parking is usually a breeze on either the south side or the north. Overall, we always feel safe there and the kids from the school dominate all but the baseball diamonds.”

LionsPark

“We love this playground, at any time of the spring, summer, or fall! It does not tend to be terribly busy most days, which is a big bonus now when we are socially distancing. There is equipment for any age, from a baby swing up to a fast spiral slide! The picnic shelter is also very convenient.”

Marlin Park

Address: 6404 Marlin Dr, Minneapolis, MN 55429, USA

“This is a small neighborhood park. It's clean and the play area has been recently renewed. A big play field enough for a friendly soccer flag football game. Lots of shade trees for a family picnic. There is no porta-potty available, so plan accordingly.”

Park

Minnehaha Dog Park

Address: 5399 Minnehaha Park Dr S, Minneapolis, MN 55417, USA

Park

“The best dog park that we have ever been to! We are from out from town, but were happy that we could still bring our dogs here. You have to buy a permit online which costs $5 per dog per day, but that was pretty easy to do. You don’t have to print this off, which can be a huge hassle when travelling. The park itself is gorgeous, and also huge! Plenty of walking trails through the woods to explore with a ton of off leash areas. There is also an area by the water where dogs are able to splash around. Lots of friendly dog owners around who were able to point us in the right directions. Do not skip this place if you have dogs! It is well worth the drive and the small fee.”

Jenny Lind Community Garden

Address: 1053 51st Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55430, USA

Park

“Well maintained raised garden plots make it easier to garden. A small shed contains tools, seeds and Informative handbooks available to the gardeners. Water is accessible for all the plots. Gardeners meet during the season to exchange info and tips. Any excess produce is taken to a local food shelf.”

Harrison Park

Address: 503 N Irving Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55405, USA

Park

“The pool seems quite small considering first, that it is on an elementary school property ( WHERE I'M SURE THAT AT LEAST 200 KIDS ATTEND ) so why not at least accommodate the pool for 30-40 kids. Second, there are many, many families with more than two kids per household in the neighborhood. I would definitely take my grandson back, he had big fun. It was overly crowded and many of the bigger kids were not mindful of the smaller kids.”

Boom Island Park

Address: 724 Sibley St NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413, USA

Park

“Very delicious pizza, they had beer and wine. Stone oven, gift shop, you can feed the goats , play soccer. Very nice venue, i think they were celebrating a graduation later that day”

Creekview Park

Address: 5001 N Humboldt Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55430, USA

Park

“Fun playground including an enclosed three- story slide that even an adult can use. There is a skate park for skateboarding (maybe in-line skating, tool. We like using the paved walking/biking path along the creek and looking for wildlife from the small bridge. The building is often open for various events, which is convenient. Free off-street parking available.”

Webber Park

Address: 4300 Webber Pkwy, Minneapolis, MN 55412, USA

Park

“First non-chlorinated public pool in North America. It uses a regeneration basin with plants and microbes to biologically filter and clean the water. Every 12 hours all 500,000 gallons cycle through. After closing each evening, robotic vacuums cleanse the pool bottom of algae. This is a beautifully landscaped natural pool and admission is free. It is a zero depth entry pool with a diving platform, a few lanes for lap swimming ($3), and a wading area. Bathrooms and lockers are available, as is an outdoor shower at poolside. Pool hours are afternoons and lifeguards are on duty. This is a gem in the heart of Minneapolis.”

Brownie Lake Park

Address: 3201 Wayzata Blvd, Minneapolis, MN 55416, USA

Park

“Hidden gem near Cedar Lake. Really nice beach to sit and read. Pretty and short walk all the way around (and connects to cedar via crossing over the train tracks). Easy spots to put kayaks in as well and connect to Cedar.”

Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board

Address: 55 Malcolm Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414, USA

Park

“Tower Hill Park, in the Prospect Park neighborhood, on top of the highest natural landform in Minneapolis, overlooks the University of Minnesota and downtown Minneapolis. I've never heard the 110-foot tower atop this hill called anything other than "The Witch's Hat," which aptly describes the shape of its roof. The tower, built in 1913, is open once a year, during nearby Pratt Elementary's annual ice cream social.”

BF Nelson Park

Address: 434 NE Main St, Minneapolis, MN 55413, USA

Park

“My husband and I needed a walk and decided to go in town instead of our local suburban park. It was lovely here. Large grassy areas to stretch out in. Wooded area, backwaters run through it and a bluff neighborhood with lovely older homes. A great mix that was so unexpected and so nice.”

Lake of the Isles Park

Address: 2500 Lake of the Isles Pkwy E, Minneapolis, MN 55405, USA

Park

“While still busy, it is definitely the quietest and least busy of the three lakes. It's narrow and long, making for a different walling experience. The vibes is a bit calmer and there are areas to rent paddle boards, kayaks, etc. I love the chairs that they have set up around the paths.”

Pershing Field Park

Address: 3523 W 48th St, Minneapolis, MN 55410, USA

“Pershing Field Park is a very nice park in a quiet piece of the big city. The green spaces are well maintained and expansive. Basketball and tennis courts in very good shape. Parking is challenging sometimes.”

Shingle Creek Falls in Webber Park

“The falls are flowing beautifully this year! The pump for cleaning bacteria from the creek is broken and floating in the water, but other than that, it's the webber falls. Saw a good sized bass jump at the base of the falls also.”

Bredesen Park

Address: 5901 Olinger Blvd, Minneapolis, MN 55436, USA
