“We're newcomers to the area. What a great place to get a historical perspective on the town and local area! It helps to know where they came from to know where they're headed in the future as a community. Was hoping to see more fire fighting relics since the building was originally a fire house. Still, it was a great place to take a grandson for his local history lesson! Stop by, you'll be glad you did!”

“This is the most wholesome fun you could ever have! My husband and I had such a great day this past Saturday at the Almelund threshing show. We explored the old buildings- courthouse, schoolhouse, blacksmith, barber shop, cabin, lumber mill and many more. There are lots of activities like washing clothes, sawing, making a walking stick, etc. We watched the tractor parade that lasted at least an hour and a half. We also had great fun watching the polka band and browsing at least 2 miles of flea market. We also ate hamburgers, hot dogs, pork chop on a stick, corn on the cob, pecan pie alamode, and a malt.”

“What a great museum! Lively too! We walked in to find a student group and an assisted living group visiting at the same time. Not to mention several volunteers working on collections projects. Lots of great things to see here—especially the interaction of students and seniors. This museum plays an essential role in the wider community and is definitely not a dusty old building. A very energizing place! My favorite display was the tilt a whirl exhibit.”

“We loved it! Plenty of parking. There is a visitor's center with restrooms and a little museum. The employees there were quite welcoming and helpful as we rented one of their golf carts. The Park is quite large, so give yourself plenty of time to walk around and check everything out. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, and you may want some bug spray. There is so much to look at, and it's all set in a beautiful place surrounded by nature. We spent a little over an hour there, but keep in mind that we were traveling by golf cart, not on foot. We definitely didn't see everything, and we're looking forward to returning in the future!”
