“I’ve been at Rising Star Ranch for several years, when started leasing 2 of the barn horses, after about a year I purchased 3 of my own. I am there everyday and twice a day in bad weather. It is a true self serve barn. I pay “rent” board for the property, for my horses however just like my home, a I care for my own horses and have found the barn to be just fine. They provide hay all year round in the dry lots, paddock and pasture. There are automatic waters in all paddock and dry lots. The staff is always helpful, and repairs are made quickly to any broken fences, etc. I Love Rising Star Ranch. It is reasonably priced, there is plenty of pasture to ride in, and many other boarders around. Not everyone would fit into a self serve barn. You treat it as though it were yours. Clean up after yourselves, muck your stalls and lots. Grain your horse, after all no one knows your horse better than you, so if it needs grain twice a day a flake of alfalfa, etc as supplement to hay bale to maintain its weight than that’s what you do. When I show up in the morning ...every morning my horses great me. They are very content. I keep 2 in pasture one in lot. I enjoy every minute of my time there. The plus that everyone looks out for everyone is nice. Boarders come all throughout the day. If someone notices another horse having issues the barn manager is notified so that the owner of the horse can be contacted.”

“Not as fancy as Faulkner’s, but our girls had fun. The activities that you pay for (pony ride, train ride, etc) are only $2 there, so less than Faulkner’s. They have a couple of bouncy houses, a slide, see-saws, face painting and petting zoo that are all free. I saw people complain about the petting zoo...people, yes, the animals will try to snap at your kids if they run after them or just jam their hands through the fence. Tell your child to be gentle and don’t chase, and you won’t have a problem. Our girls went inside the pens, petted the goats and bunnies, and although the animals were a little skittish, they didn’t try to snap at my girls. They both enjoyed the pony rides, they each rode 3 times...so that’s $6 for 3 rides compared to $5 for one at Faulkner’s. The owner was very nice as well as the other people we encountered. We may go back next year to do a hayride, since we didn’t do that. We did ride the train, they only made us give them 2 tickets for that, for our daughters, and we got to ride along with them. Overall a pretty good place, nothing fancy but your kids will have fun. I saw some people complaining about the admission...well then don’t go. You can’t expect places to be next to free, it is a business. It is still less than Faulkner’s if you are concerned about cost.”

“Went to change phone service from AT&T to Consumer Cellular. This was the closet store to me that has a tech to set up my phone and transfer my info. Trevor did a great job but AT&T was a 30 min. wait every time we had to call them. It took hours to get it done and I'm sure I would have not been able to do it myself.
