“Lovely art gallery with custom furniture. The building used to be a service station, it winds around and is fun to get lost in. The former owner had it for 40 years and recently retired and sold to Hoffman. The new manager is a designer and tradesman and very friendly and helpful. In April there is an open-air art plenary festival that sounds charming.”

“Root Food + Wine was a journey of flavor combinations that I never thought of together. They work amazingly well together. Smooth and crunchy, salty and sweet, popcorn and chicken?… delicious! Everyone in our party had the seven course chefs tasting menu. Kirsten, our server, described the complex taste revelations as “a party in your mouth” and she was right. We loved the vintage look and welcoming staff. This is a top notch must try experience. All farm to table. Their sources are mostly local and all listed on the front of the menu. All of our drinks looked like works of art and, as the food, we’re all exemplary taste combinations. I’ve included, too many, pictures of everything we had. It’s easy to see why this up and coming chef is winning awards!”

“Selling your home can be a difficult experience. Luckily, I decided to use Genie at Countryside Brokers because her firm was very familiar with my homes location and she could then speak with knowledge about our unique area. She assisted me through many tough decisions on changes that needed to be done in order to make the sale. I always knew I could count on her for good solid advice and together we achieved the mutual goal of a sale, and a lasting friendship.”

“My husband and I had passed by here many times on our way to the Katy but it was never open. Well my daughter and I stopped in after our ride to give it a try. It is located in an historic Augusta building along with an art gallery on one side. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of hashbrowns. Now it is probably just a matter of personal preference but there was way too much pepper in the gravy for me and the hashbrowns weren't very good..very thin and no taste. My daughter had a bunless cheeseburger which she said reminded her of Steak n' Shakes but she was a little disappointed with the brussel sprouts that looked and sounded delicious. The prices for lunch were pretty much in line with other restaurants in the area but looking over the dinner menu some of the options looked pretty pricey. We don't get out this way much so I don't know if I will try any of their other menu offerings.”

“Nestled in downtown Augusta, Mo, this boutique has a wonderful selection of upscale women’s clothing. The shop itself is located in an historical building that has been completed rehabbed and is just stunning. The pictures do not do it justice! The staff, and especially the manager Cyndi, are among the most accommodating and professional I have ever encountered. They make every customer feel welcome without being pushy or disingenuous. I just love it and plan on going back for many more shopping trips!”

“Awesome park with trails and tons of campsites. Dog friendly. Many varieties including primitive, RV, walk ins, sites with posts for hammocks, and more. There are various camping amenities like a camp kitchen, bathrooms, showers, compost toilets, playgrounds, and others. The park has a pretty waterfront area and you can fish. There are scenic bluff overlooks. There's a meeting facility you can rent. Something for everyone. And it's close to several charming small towns and wineries.”

“We had a wonderful stay at this B&B. Kelly is a lovely and gracious host. The beds were very comfortable and rooms were clean. There is plenty to do with a hot tub, pool, fire pit, corn hole boards and shuffle board table on site. The town of Augusta is small which makes it walking distance to restaurants, stores, Augusta Winery, Good News Brewing Company and Halcyon Spa. Kelly also keeps a mini fridge stocked with a variety of drinks for her guests along with different snacks. Breakfast was delicious and she takes recommendations on what to serve. If I'm ever back in Augusta I would definitely stay here again.”

“We are regulars at the Conservatory, a B&B managed by owners Randal and Marj in Augusta MO. They truly know how to make you feel welcome and goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is an excellent one. We stayed at the Conservatory on 6/18 for our One year Wedding Anniversary, We were talking to Randal about having an outside fire even though it was 90 degrees during the day and Randall had a fire waiting for us after we got back from dinner, the next morning we had our complimentary breakfast at Kate's coffee shop which is owned by them as well. Marj had a full course breakfast for us including freshly baked muffins. I can't say enough about how thoughtful Randal and Marj are and recommend any of their establishments anytime. Regards, Suresh & Liz”

“My mom and I both got massages from Sara. We often get massages from different places we go and we both agreed that Sara gave us one of the best massages we've ever had. She is very attentive to your tight areas and does a phenomenal job working out your knots. We both felt much better after we left. Halcyon Spa is also very affordable.”

“I went with my sisters to have a girls weekend. We had a fantastic time. Mary is a wonderful host. She was not able to be there for part of our stay and so we also met her sister Kay, who was great. The house is comfortable, The breakfast was good. The setting of the house is beautiful. The price was very reasonable. I left my jewelry there by accident and they let me know and mailed it back to me. From the big things and small things it was a great experience!”

“Great ride. Six days of riding and hardly a car seen or heard. Much fun cycling and visiting with people from around the country. Birds, rabbits, deer, marmots, and turtles to see. Bridges, tunnels, and trailhead stations gave character. Communities welcoming. Most of the ride is very rural, so come prepared and have a well laid out plan. Some small town stores are only open on weekends”

“What a fantastic store! Lisa the owner is the rose in this sweet smelling bouquet of a store. I felt like I met an old friend she was very informative and very personable. Items are priced to sell, very unique and displayed beautifully! This store is the gem in town! If I go back to this area it would be one of my very first stops. Lisa provided me with some very unique items for my BnB and they fit in perfectly. Thank you Lisa, if you're ever in Illinois look me up! Fb Lisa Gutterman”
