“I found this piece of wilderness in an otherwise quite populated area in West St. Louis County a couple years ago. It is a hidden gem located above Bluebird Park. The hiking trails are natural and run mostly on higher ground with a few dips and climbs. It is a great someone had the foresight to designate this area undisturbed for our enjoyment.”

“Such a fun park. Great play areas with shade. There are two players, one for older kids and one for younger ones.”

“This was a great, moderate hike. Very well maintained and partially paved. Plenty of nature to be seen. If you're just out for an easy hike make sure you stay on this trail. It links up with other trails that will quickly turn into unpaved, hilly, rustic and rocky trails. All the trails were well marked though. I personally went to explore and found some amazing spots off trail, because that's where life really happens 😉, but it's not for the faint of heart. Terrain was quite difficult in spots. Seen porta potties and a drinking fountain, but did not test functionality. Great family destination, plenty of room to run around. Picnic tables and grills. Pet friendly as long as they're leashed. Limited parking, but seemed like alot of turnover, so you probably wouldn't have to wait long for a spot. Overall, a great way to spend an afternoon.”

“A moderate trail. Beautiful views. Well shaded. This is one of my new favorites. I'm very curious about the history. Appears to have been donated to the city/state given all the remnants of concrete foundation.”

“We had driven past the entrance to the World Bird Sanctuary many times, on our way to Lone Elk Park. But, this was the first time we had paid the nominal entrance fee to visit. This is a place with a mission/purpose, and it's a good one. The exhibits are well laid out and the variety of birds is unexpected. One of the best features is the stories posted on the enclosures, how the bird got there...the circumstances, etc. We will be back in warmer weather, for sure.”

“Wow such a cool little hidden gem. You can jump right in the meramec at this spot. I wouldn't suggest it though cause the water is very contaminated. This place is very clean and unique.”

“Nice old ball field, to bad it's not currently in use. But, I believe the city, is going to do a big reconstruction, and make the ball fields bigger.”

“Absolutely love this farm and park! There aren’t very many nice parks in south county compared to the city so this one is golden. The kids loved the farm and I love how easy and less crowded it is to get around and feed the animals. The playgrounds are great and the picnic areas are decent. The pond is a nice place for recreational fishing too. This park can be a whole day visit or just a few hours. We went an a weekday so there were a few class field trips there. Luckily they moved on to the playground so the farm wasn’t crowded.”

“Walked to the quarry overlook. From the parking lot we used, it was dooownnn a STEEP hill, uuuup a STEEP HILL with some fairly level in between. Not a long walk but a darn good work out! (For me @ least.)”

“Great small little park. It has close parking to all parts of the park. You have the ability to walk a cemented trail with quick physical activity stations. In addition there is a field for baseball, football, or soccer. Two basketball nets within the park. There are plenty of pavilions as well. The best feature is the playground for children and a water feature that is on from time to time during the summer.”
