(June 25, 2023, 12:25 am)Fun little museum to beat the heat! $6 pp and it says military is free at the front desk but when I asked the attendant he said actually no it's not, so not sure about military discount but that's ok I'm happy to support the museum.
Small museum but good amount of artifacts and the a/c feels really great at 2pm in June! The reconstructed buildings outside are cool to see how they may have looked.
Also cool is that they have shaded kennels for your pets, as well as a gazebo type thing with grills but I'm not sure if the public is allowed to use them.
(May 13, 2023, 8:18 pm)If you enjoy Southwest history both ancient & more recent, this museum is well worth the stop. It includes Anasazi/Puebloan artifacts, wonderful rock/mineral displays & great old photos of the local mining towns. The "lost city" was St. Thomas, a Mormon farm town which was covered by Lake Mead once Boulder Dam was completed in the 1930s. Fun book store too.

(February 11, 2023, 10:19 pm)Affordable entrance fee and plenty of exhbits about the area from natural to cultural history. There are some authentic souvenirs to buy. The staff are really nice too.
(January 17, 2023, 12:18 am)Stumbled upon this little spot on our way to the hot springs. Amazing piece of history. I loved the floors, which our guide told us was polished sandstone from Lake Mead!!!

About the Museum - Lost City Museum
The Lost City Museum, originally known as the Boulder Dam Park Museum, was built in 1935 by members of the Civilian Conservation Corps. The National Park Service created the museum to exhibit artifacts recovered from local prehistoric archaeological sites, most of which were flooded when the Colorado River was dammed to form Lake Mead.
