“A Battello is a small boat often tied to larger boats and used to bring people back and forth from the shore. I’m not sure why this name was chosen and a lot of times I’ve passed their statue with the name under it and wondered what it was. I found out that it’s a real jewel on the Hudson in Jersey city. The first thing you’ll notice is that while the building itself looks small, the establishment is incredibly spacious, and well thought out. Very very clean. The staff is very courteous and professional. While sitting at the bar having a coffee I listen to the bar keep and a host discuss the wine, making sure it was chilled properly etc. very thoughtful. I liked that the customer doesn’t know that they’re working behind the scenes to make the moment nice. The view outside of Manhattan is incredible also and worth the visit if just to look at the skyline while having a Manhattan from the bar. It also looks like the beginning of some construction on a adjacent bit of land of which I’m hopeful it won’t obstruct the view. This is how a restaurant should be and I’ll write more when I have time to eat there.”

“I love this place. The spicy grilled hummus salad is my favorite here. The food portion is good enough for a person and the service is always fast. The hummus I would rate above average for the cost and pita breads are soft and warm. I have been going to this place for over 3 years now and it has rarely disappointed”

“This place is and has always been amazing. It is a lovely spot at the edge of the waterfront. The staff are so unbelievably kind and always strive to do their best. The chicken wings and fries are fantastic along with some of their other food. In addition to this, their bubble tea has always been great. I can only recommend this place.”

“The mini here is hidden but its a perfect size if you aren't trying to eat a ton of meat, but are still craving a cheesesteak. The works with marinara sauce is my special combo that I love, and paired with Crystal hot sauce. Peep the Eagles truck outside, and be prepared to get full of bomb meat, cheese, and bread.”
