“The first time I stopped in it was my wife and I. She’s a very good cook and comes from a Italian family that knows about good food. For my wife to say it’s better then her father’s cooking is a huge compliment. Next time we went we brought friends, they were so pleased with there meals and apps. Our server Bill had a way of delivering what the specials and apps where that made us all want everything!!!! He was awesome and so was our food and experience!!! Looking forward to next time.”

“I stopped in for lunch, nice bunch of people working, very friendly. Got here right when they opened, they were in the middle of making some pies. They had they had a granny pie ready to go ,I picked up 3 slices. Boy o boy did that hit the spot ( very tasty). They have a room ( hold 30-40 people) good for big groups. I have to stop in for dinner soon.????????????????”

The food is real comfort food and the coffee is EXCELLENT! there is a fantastic warmth in the owners and I apologize for not remembering their names, but they are very good with their food. The quality of top notch fresh. I had an omelette and toast breakfast and it felt like home. And the prices are from 15 years ago. Just a note... This place is Cash Only.. But I respect that.. Many small businesses are.. that way they keep their prices down for the quality they provide. My daughter has applied to MAST in Sandy Hook and if she gets through, you will see me and my wife as one of your regulars.”

“Went on a Thursday night around 10p. The decor inside is clean and eclectic with taps and t shirts on the wall. There was live music that was very pleasant. A little loud inside so it's hard to have a conversation but outside it's not too loud. It's a local hang out for Highlands. It was very relaxing and the bar tender was personable and welcoming. I feel you could get dressed up and come listen to good music here or dress down and relax after a long day of work. I didn't try any food but my friends raved about the food they got. Finger foods and such. I took one star off just because outside seating was a lot of smokers and that can be off-putting.”

The outside bar seating is especially relaxing and has an amazing view of the surrounding shoreline and hook area. “Had an incredible dinner at Fresh last night celebrating a good friend's birthday. Great company, great atmosphere, and even better food. The chef brought out fresh bruschetta for everyone dining at the restaurant. The entire staff made sure that our wine and water glasses were full at all times and that we had everything we needed. “Love this place. We have 2 small children and love coming here. The staff is always amazing, the food is really good, and the view is incredible. We feel really comfortable sitting by the water as the fence has been made with children in mind. “We came here on a beautiful sunny day. Sitting on the deck was perfect. We had 2 babies with us and it was great to have the fresh air with them and not stress about them making noise. The lobster roll is a very good size, but you definitely pay for it. That crab cake sandwich was phenomenal. Definitely the highlight of what we had. Also, the fries were very good. Lots of flavor and a perfect texture. Highly recommend.”
