Excellent exhibit about the WWII history of the area and Battery Lewis, a 16-inch gun battery manned by the US Army Coast Artillery during WWII. Excellent interpretive panels, but the highlight is a 16-inch gun tube. The tube is actually from a battleship, but is of the same type and general dimensions as the ones used in the battery. The original guns and carriages were scrapped after WWII.
