“All service staff members were super welcoming. Our server Wendy was very attentive. This is a true gem of a restaurant in Central Jersey. “My friends and I decided to sit in the enclosed patio and the ambiance was amazing. They have good lighting outside, outdoor heating, and nice decorations which made the experience all the more so comforting. The New York steak was cooked to perfection, each bite was full of taste. I’m interesting in trying the other plates my friends had for next time. The server Sherry was very accommodating for our party. We had the calamari for appetizer and it did not disappoint. For dessert I tried the pistachio ice cream which was the best ice cream I have had in a long while. Overall 10/10”

“Been here a few times and this particular visit was the best. Not that they all haven’t been good but my sandwich today knocked my socks off!!! I got the Porkette sandwich and man it hit the spot! The broccoli rabe was cooked perfectly, the pork was nice and tender and the long hots had a great bite. On top of the sandwiches they have prepared foods as well. Not this visit, but I did get the eggplant parm one night and it was fantastic. Nice and fresh, thin sliced eggplant like I like it. The other thing I love about this place is they have spicy anchovies in a jar. These are my favorite and hard to find so to have a shop not too far from my house to get them is nice. (I have a picture of them in the review) I personally have only gotten take out but the atmosphere is nice and they have a table by the window if you wanted to sit down. The staff is very friendly and the chef / owner came out personally to hand me my, stellar, sandwich and thanked me for my business. That is a nice touch. All is all a great Italian market with good food for now, later, or to pick up ingredients to make your own. I almost forgot the bread!!!!! They carry Melone Brothers bread, the best bread in the known world!!! It makes the sandwich pop and you got to get a stick of bread for your house it makes any meal better.”

“For context my experience with Chinese food has been mostly Americanized dishes/flavors. To date this has to be the most authentic Chinese food I’ve ever had and it was excellent! Dumplings were on point as an appetizer, and every dish made its presence felt. In terms of flavor I think the peppercorn chicken was the standout. Great spice They were very busy (1 hour wait) so factor that in if you’re going for dinner. They’re efficient, and in general the entire waitstaff was on top of its game. It’s worth pointing out specifically that not only our waiter but others had a professional demeanor I don’t often see in most restaurants. Highly recommend this place”

“Visited Joe's Meat Market because of the reviews. The shop is located in Perth Amboy on State Street. The was ample parking on the street, but they do have a parking lot. Once we parked and exited the car you can smell the aroma of fresh smoke meats. The shop is small but, inviting. They have a baked good section with fresh rye breads, Polish pastries, etc. These products supplied by a local bakery. In addition, the have Polish specialities, soups, condiments, pasta, desserts, pickles, etc. They do smoke their own kielbasa, hams, Polish bacon, etc. They also make their pate, liverwurst, and other Polish specialities. All of these products were tasty and authentic. We tried their homemade stuffed cabbage, which was very good to my surprise. It was oversized and very good but, it did not come with sauce. Their pierogi are made by Lola's in Brooklyn which was when we tried them they were disappointing. Overall, we were happy to find this shop.”

“Decided to take a short trip to grab some lunch and we ended up about 40 minutes from downtown Philly at Sweet Amalia Market and Kitchen. We read something about it online the other day and heard great things from friends as well. It did not disappoint. Off some backroads on Route 40 you come across a quaint roadside market. We had to wait for a parking spot and knew we were in for something great. You walk in and see the market selection of fresh jersey tomatoes, corn on the cob and a slew of other fresh vibrant veggies. There are options in the refrigerated selection of cheeses, beverages and tons of vinegars, pickles, pasta and a little bit of everything. The menu is wide and is heavily focused on oysters and other bivalves. I decided to opt for the Fried clam sandwich as I have had not a decent one in months since being in Maine. The fried clam roll was excellent with a surprise piece of bacon lining the soft and buttery toasted roll. I added a side of Shoobie fries (maybe a reference to the closed Shoobies in Wildwood?) but I am not familiar. They were seasoned well but not cooked as well I would have liked. I prefer a more well done fry but the aioli that came with them was tasty. My wife had the corn chowder and the grilled cheese and they were both gobbled down and thoroughly enjoyed. The corn chowder was creamy and decadent and served with some oyster crackers. Next time, and there will be a next time, we will go with the varying selection of oysters that they have on the menu. If you are in the area, or not in the area like us, give Amelia a try, you won't regret it. And I came home with some new Hank's Skedatil hot sauce, a varietal I have never had before.”

“I recently indulged in takeout from Sakura Sushi in Manalapan, and I must say, my taste buds were in for a treat. While the menu boasted an extensive selection of classic Japanese dishes, I couldn't resist indulging in a few staples. Here's the lowdown on what I ordered: The chicken teriyaki was undoubtedly the highlight of the meal, with a perfect blend of savory and sweet flavors that left me wanting more. I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The katsudon, while tasty, wasn't quite as impressive as the teriyaki. The pork cutlet was cooked to perfection, but the dish lacked a certain depth of flavor that would have elevated it to the next level. I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars. Moving on to the sushi, the Philly roll was decent, but nothing to write home about. The same can be said for the spicy tuna and salmon rolls, which were fresh but not exceptional. Each of these rolls garnered a 3.5 out of 5 stars from me. Unfortunately, the kani salad was a bit of a letdown. While the dish had potential, the lack of masago and flavor left me feeling underwhelmed. I'd give it a 3 out of 5 stars. The miso soup and house salad were both decent, but again, nothing to write home about. Each dish received a 3.5 out of 5 stars. While the food was certainly enjoyable, I couldn't help but notice that it didn't seem as fresh as it could have been. Compared to other sushi places I've dined at, Sakura Sushi fell a bit short in this department. All things considered, I'd give Sakura Sushi a respectable 3.5 out of 5 stars. While there were certainly highlights, the food as a whole didn't quite reach the level of excellence I was hoping for.”

“Fun place to hang out! My girlfriends and I stopped for lunch on our way home from Flemington. Delicious food, attentive waitstaff, relaxing and we never felt rushed to leave. We did go on Memorial Day so it wasn't too busy, but there were still quite a few people (the outdoor patio was about half full). Generous portions of food, ample parking in the back, and handicap accessible parking right up front with a ramp and steps. The outdoor bar looked pretty cool too.”
