“My family and I love this place. Its one of our favorite fast food spots. You have to try the brussel sprouts and tempura green bean sides they are so delicious! “This Playa Bowls is newer and there is room to grow but overall it was a good experience. Unlike the Red Bank location you can place a mobile order on your phone and pick it up 15 minutes later. This was nice because I was able to easily as for a split bowl as well as gluten free granola. They also have outdoor seating set up in their parking lot so you can enjoy your food there. The only downside to the mobile order is that you have to pay a $.50 surcharge to place a mobile order. Overall, my bowl was good and I will be returning to this location in the future.”

We ordered a variety of food to try: eggplant meatballs were rich and seasoned well with a deliciously crisp outside. The Cabernet was smooth and tasty. “I don't live in the area but anytime I am in the area I stop in for dinner or get takeout. The restaurant is a small mom & pop type of establishment. I am not fussy about waiting or service. I just want good tasting food. Prices are reasonable. What I also like is that on my visits I see small families eat here & mostly Mexican/Latino people which tells me the food must be good because they are more familiar with the cuisine than I am. I LOVE their chicken soup and always get a large container to go. I usually get chicken enchiladas. This past visit I got Tinga which is stewed chicken & potatoes, rice & beans = delicious. If I lived anywhere closer, I would definately be getting takeout very frequently. My experiences have always been good,”

“What a beautiful place and service. We went there for a dinner, group of 12. We were all amazed to find such a city style restaurant in East Brunswick. The service was beyond excellent, our waiter Cem had a smile on his face and very presentable whenever he comes and talks to us. The food presentation they do, is great. Food portions are pretty big. “Every time I visit this location, the staff are always so incredibly kind and upbeat. They take my order and have me in and out in no time. I am always on the go and traveling across NJ for long stretches of time, and stopping by this location has been perfect every time. Even if the line is super long, they get us all handled and served exceptionally fast. I try to tip every time so they know how much I appreciate it. To be honest, even if I know another coffee shop may be closer on my route, I will go out of my way to stop here because other places will either mess up my order or be downright rude. “Newly opened and recommended by a friend and colleague who lives in town. They raved about their takeout. We ordered pizza (Sunday Gravy) and pasta (Genoa Pesto) to go. At home they both looked very good prior to reheating and both reheated very nicely. Nice! The pizza had flavorful meat topping and cheese. Loved the crust a little too much in the sense that you try not to eat the crust-ends so that you can have another slice, but you windup eating the crust-ends anyway and have to put off the extra slice for the next day to avoid over eating more of this delious pie. My wife puts this pizza in the top 10% of the places she's had. The pasta and pesto was flavorful and balanced without being oily and overly seasoned. We want to go back for more takeout to try some of their other dishes. Though we did not eat there, I did note they had three distinct dining areas (High tops, small tables and what appeared to be another area for slightly larger parties). On a personal note: though the state has temporarily rescinded mask-wearing, the food preparers and wait staff were maksless. For anyone who cares about this sort of thing.”

He was able to provide the answers. On the way out we even met the owner who was very nice. I would have given a five star review, but our dessert experience was not 100%. We ordered a yummy sounding carrot cake slice to share. Looked like a work of art, nice presentation. When we got home we cut it in half, and sat down for an end of day treat. The cake was dry and lacked flavor, the icing was delicious and the candied walnuts, we really appreciated, along with the lemon curd on the side. I was a bakery for over a decade, I would add some spice to the cake, chop up the candied walnuts and add them to the batter, along with apple sauce, raisins and fresh shredded carrots. You have delicious icing and the lemon curd on the side really adds a nice burst. Overall the restaurant is very nice, good food, good service, pricy, and owner is really nice. We definitely come back again 😊”

“Tried Blu Crete for the first time for dinner tonight and it was excellent! We had the escargot and it was tender and tasty. Also had the Organic Chicken with Risotto and Tagliatelle Bolognese. Dinner was served with a Foccacia type bread and fresh marinara sauce which was so fresh. Portions were ample and everything tasted delicious. Service was great and the owner took the time to sit with us to discuss his new business venture. Considering it was only the THIRD night ithey were open, they did a great job! We have missed Veneto's and are glad to have a new restaurant in the Hills. Definitely recommend Blu Crete!”

“Looks like we're in the dining area of a house, very cute. There's even an enclosed outdoor area. But it was too hot to sit outside ;) There was a large party taking up half the space. Luckily we made reservations. They were pretty boisterous. Service was excellent. Susan was very helpful as we've never had Armenian food. Bedros (not sure of the spelling) was on point clearing plates and getting extra plates, utensils etc. Considering such a large party they still came to check on us regularly. :) When we sat down they brought us basket of pitas and a plate of 🫒, 🧀, pickled cabbage and pickled banana pepper. This was so good, much better than just boring bread and butter! I don't know what kind of cheese it was but I really liked it. I don't usually like unknown 🧀 but hubby will eat any kind of 🧀 LoL We ordered: Armenian 🍵 - this was really good! We each had 2 cups :D Kibbehs - nice and crispy on the outside and meaty on the inside, wasn't too doughy like other places Sujuk - Armenian Sausage - delicious! The stew like tomato on top gave the sausage a nice juiciness, might have felt dry without it, nicely complements the sausage Yalanji - Grape Leaves - one of the best I've had! Had to get an extra order to take home :D Okra with Mujadara - was only on the lunch menu but as our friend is vegetarian, they made an exception for him and he enjoyed the Okra and Lentil Rice Rack of Lamb - hubby loved the lamb, I'm not a lamb fan but it was flavorful. And hubby loved the Lentil Rice Grilled Salmon - I've had over cooked salmon in some very upscale restaurants so was surprised this was perfectly cooked over a bed of spinach which itself was very good. I didn't like the Lentil Rice to me it was too sweet, and clashed with my salmon, hubby was happy to take it off my plate LOL Definitely worth a try. It's similar to other middle eastern cuisine but there's just enough of a difference to warrant a try. :)”

This is a family owned establishment and a few things have changed over the years and decades but everything is as good now as it was back then. I highly recommend.
