“The salad portion is a meal in it's self. The food was good. The waiter was very attentive. But, I didn't appreciate that he reached across my plate of food to pass my brother his plate. That was tacky. Being a professional chef, I give each restaurant that I visit a chance. The NY strip could have had less fat on it. The temperature of it was perfect. All toll, it was a good experience, peaceful atmosphere. I would vist again. My brother said that he enjoys having his breakfast there, it was his first time having dinner there. Rod‘s Tavern is the perfect place anytime of day or night…any season of the year. “We stumbled upon this place after a day at the beach club. It happened to be their first day open. It was very busy, but they were handling it fantastically. We dined inside and saw all the walk-ins, the phone orders, the pickups going on. 2 guys making sushi and 2 guys manning the front. They have some kinks to iron out, but hey... it was their first day. And the sushi....very good. They tempura cooked my 2 rolls and I loved it. Also had 2 veggie rolls and 2 others. “The food was good and it was presented very beautifully, but I felt it was a bit more expensive than I felt it was worth. That being said, our server was on point and all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. There was even a couple that had their dog sit at the table with them. It was at an outside table with no other guests nearby, but I love how this was allowed. He was so well behaved and kept myself and the family behind us entertained. For those reasons, I would go back.”

“Stopped in for lunch and they had a good selection of choices to pick from. I got the griot with sweet plantain and rice and peas. My husband likes all his food moist with sauce so we got some gravy from the chicken in sauce and it was so good. Good amount of heat in the sauce and the meat was fresh and not tough. The rice was fluffy and light and the plantains were a perfect match to the meat. We also got 2 chicken patties and 2 beef patties and they were ok. The meat to pastry ratio is off so you end up eating more pastry than meat which is disappointing. The meat had great flavor but they should make it smaller so the meat stands out more. The dough was buttery and flaky and had a good bite. Overall, it was a good experience. The customer service was a bit dry but polite. I would definitely go back to try more things and would recommend this spot for authentic Haitian food.”

“I do miss the bagels from the old Coffee Grinder but with that being said, Kettleman’s has very good bagels at an okay price. I just wish Kettleman’s bagels had a bit more flavor, it’s almost like they’re missing an ingredient or something. But they are way better than a grocery store bagel, and worth the difference in price. I got a porkroll egg and cheese on an everything bagel with salt pepper and ketchup. My mom also got a porkroll egg and cheese, and we also ordered 6 bagels on the side. All together the total came to $23. It is a bit pricy but that’s what you’re going to pay for the quality. Even after driving 25 minutes back home, our sandwiches were still nice and warm when we ate them. As I said before the bagels and sandwich all together seemed a little lacking in flavor and didn’t “hit the spot” as much as we’d expected but they were still very good and we’ll be back eventually.”

“2 year old loves it, surprisingly they have a whole section for toddlers. No admission fee, we stop by for an hour or so on a cold/rainy day and have indoor fun on a budget! We've been many times and try to go on Monday evenings because the Chuck E. Cheese performer is especially good. He takes time to interact with the kids, is patient and it makes their day 😁 (we have been other days and the Chuck E is not as enthusiastic haha.) Staff is friendly and helpful. “Wow!! Super impressed with the Korai kitchen.. we decided to give this place a try because of their high ratings and their unique menu. We tried the egg curry and Labra special portioned for one. For the sides, you can pick rice, dal and dry aloo sabzi or pulao rice (with egg) or upgrade to chicken biryani. We loved the homely taste and the mild spices. The restaurant only allows take outs and deliveries currently and it's best to call and pre-order even for a take out (they had our food ready within half an hour). I highly recommend this restaurant, we will definitely go back to try more varieties!”

“At around 1330 on Sunday, 7 May, 2023 I ordered my chocolate slim-n-trim. They informed me that they were out of bananas but could substitute peanut butter. When I got my smoothie it was weak and tasteless. I returned it immediately and was told it was because of the missing bananas and said they couldn't give me a refund. They gave me a strawberry slim-n-trim, which doesn't require bananas with the same result. I'll try it again next weekend as they're usually very good, but they were very disappointing that day. 4/5 Stars.”
