“I ordered the lunch special of 2 eight inch steak subs for $12, planning on giving the other to my hubby for his lunch tomorrow. I took a bite of my sub and immediately decided I wasn’t sharing. The beef was chopped so fine it looked like it was ground in parts which perfectly cradled and melted the cheeses. It was piping hot and the bread was fresh and soft. I didn’t see any place to eat inside and a group of more than six would make it a bit claustrophobic but I was going just to grab a quick bite and this place is perfect. Prices included tax which I’m a huge fan of and the most expensive individual item is $13. If I’m ever in the area again I will be back.”

“My first time in this restaurant was back in Jan of 1980. A friend took me there for lunch. I've been eating there at least once a week for the last forty years, and sometimes twice a week. They have a GREAT selection of lunch specials every day. It's difficult to decide which one to get. All the prices are good, the food's great, the prices are fair, and the wait staff couldn't be better. I figured out the other day that I've eaten there around two thousand times! Have to mention....they have the best beef on weck in Buffalo. Order one and they'll ask you how you'd like the beef done. It melts in your mouth it's so tender. Wish they had more stars to give it.”

“Had double order of chicken wings an two different sauces. Wings were good size and cooked right! Not too crispy, not slimy! Congo sauce is a sweet and peppery flavor. Not spicy in my opinion but on the level of fresh ground black peppercorns. Also tried the maple bacon sauce which was cooked well and had a mild maple flavor but lacking in overall bacon flavor. I Ordered the beer batter Cajun fish fry for dinner and was not dissatisfied. Fish was flaky but solid. Very light fish taste so it was definitely fresh. Cajun beer batter was crisp and not too thick. Not oily or greasy. I would have liked more Cajun seasoning as I enjoy spicy food but it did add a nice flavor to the Yuengling beer batter. Potato salad was rough cut red potatoes with chunks of egg. A fresh broccoli coleslaw with bits of cranberry was a nice addition. Friendly service relaxed fisherman themed decor.”
