“I'm sure I could spend a lot more time looking at the various exhibits here but I had a short time and was disappointed I couldn't peek into the research / study hall. The corridors are lined with lots to read though and the free exhibit was good (Treasures).”

“An architectural Masterpiece, as soon as you walk in you are engulfed with this feeling of pure amazement!! The indoors is truly gorgeous, it feels like a combination of being in a museum and a library. The best part of all is that is totally FREE!! and as long as you don’t use flash, photography is allowed. Just remember its an actual library so you have to keep quiet and respectful of others.”

“The Goethe Institute is a truly magnetic place where one can learn German, German literature, and German contemporary culture in general. Tucked away on Irving Place near Union Square, it offers a spacious library on the ground floor, and airy classrooms on the 4th floor. It’s best to join as a student or member in some form. I love this Institute. It is a haven for anyone interested in the European intellectual life and life style.”

“A wonderful neighborhood library with helpful staff and solid collection of books and resources. We were sad to see that the book club has not reemerged yet, but hopefully that will change post pandemic. I have had consistently good success in getting all my hold requests fulfilled. Bravo!”

“Great library, but the librarians speak loudly when helping people. Not the best place to be if you want silence.”

“Love this place. Polite staff. Very comfortable and beautiful venue in which they screen rare and hidden gems of French cinema. And they have really fantastic filmmaker Q&As”

“I’m an alum of NYLS and found the school to be a wonderfully supportive environment. I especially respected the diversity represented by the student body. Recently I had to make a request of the school through it’s Registrar’s Office. The Registrar, via its representative Ms. Wortherley, responded to my request efficiently and professionally. I am grateful.”

“One of New York's magical places tucked out of the way but worth the effort. The building is evocative of another era and Pedro de Mena's "Saint Acisclus" sculpture is haunting. Unlike most other museums in NYC - it has never been crowded during my visits.”

“This library is free to enter and all you need to do is to get your bag checked. The headphones are 1 dollar each for he computers. You have to have a New York public library card to use the computers. But the computers are free to use. Tu necessites reservar to use the computer. The staff is very nice and the library is very quiet and helpful. The library cafe is called Amy’s bread cafes it’s a small kiosk which has pastries coffee lunches like soup and sandwiches and chips. My favorite chip is the zesty jalapeño chips and a mini snickerdoodle cookie! ???? the floors are clean and it smells good. There is big balcony at the cafe area. Lincoln public library is close to the Columbus circle subway.”
