“Thank you for an amazing massage!! My massage therapist was very accomodating when I told the front desk man that I wanted some attention to my upper back because of stress. Her pressure was on point, and she really worked my knots out. Thank goodness, because I was on the brink of a meltdown. This place is super clean, orderly, and the heated floors are a nice touch! Will be making this my massage spot in the UWS!”

“As a model and a actress it's important to look my best.. and I had. The best experience I've ever had at a medspa! They helped my butt get lifted. My abs appear, my skin clear up and they have me on the way to getting the tattoos I want removed. it's not your typical med spa! It's got a good vibe and more of a loungey feel💕 Love you medspa fam! 😘”

“I highly recommend this location because Dee is the best! I’ve been coming to her for a couple years now and she always makes the best recommendations, whether it’s for skincare, makeup or hair products. She really knows her products inside and out! Dee is very patient and listens to all of my concerns before recommending products, and she’s never pushy for the sake of making a sale. Ask for her next time time you’re there, you won’t be disappointed!”

Gym Health Spa

“Update: Having been a member now for a month, I am happy to say I am still pleased with my choice in joining this location. The front staff are always friendly. I never have issues waiting for the treadmill, cycling, or rowing machines. The weight machines can get busy sometimes but I don’t think I’ve ever had to wait longer than 5 minutes. Lockers are well kept. Massage chairs are great. Sauna is hot and clean. The only minor complaint I have is that they recently removed the towel locker at the front entrance. You are now limited to 2 towels per visit, which is pretty inconvenient. I get saving on costs, but the abundant towel service is a part of what makes the experience here feel more upscale. Taking that away makes coming here more of a utilitarian experience and less luxurious. I say bring back the towels! Or better yet, upgrade them. One other suggestion: upgrade the shampoo, conditioner, and body soaps. Literally, if you all did that, I would never bat an eye at Equinox. ***** I honestly don't understand why this location received such negative reviews. I just toured and signed up for membership today. Compared to the other gyms, NYSC is a great value. Passport membership was only $75 a month for access to all locations, though I got a corporate discount, so brought it down to $60. The gym has four levels, it's well lit, the locker room is clean, there's towel service, there's a sauna, tons of equipment, and my personal favorite, pilates reformer machines and classes. The reformer classes alone cost $35 a pop anywhere else in the UES. The front desk receptionists were nice and the trainer Jane was very friendly and welcoming. The only other options in the UES would be Crunch fitness, where the monthly rate is $100 for a single location or $270 at Equinox. I've been to Crunch fitness. It's perfectly fine too, and they have great classes, but it was a little too dark and the layout was a little weird. Equinox is great, but for that price point, no thanks. There's the 92Y and Asphalt Green, but again, they are both similar in pricing as Crunch, with access to only one location. I initially thought there wouldn't be enough class offerings for me at NYSC because they don't seem to advertise it online but after signing up, there's an app that you can use to register for the many classes at all their locations, and they are not full. So you can literally take yoga, pilates, HIIT, cycling, martial arts, etc for a fraction of the cost of regular studios. Ultimately, I think NYSC is the best deal in the UES for convenience, variety, quality, and pricing. Side note: I'm a former Class Passer, and I am canceling my subscription plan.”

Russian & Turkish Baths

“Had a really great first experience here! They had some simple shorts, sandals, and towels to use. I enjoyed easing into the heat with some of their steam rooms and saunas before making my way to the unparalleled Russian Room. This is where the magic happens. Follow that up with the plunge pool, and you feel amazing! After a couple rounds of that we went for some of their authentic food and beer from the kitchen and relaxed on the rooftop patio for some fresh air. Will definitely come back. It’s an experience! And that’s what you pay for.”

“Mariana SAVED my nails after years of going to quick, cheap manicure places in the neighborhood. The kokoist gel is so much less harsh on your nails, and it last seriously forever. I've gone 5 weeks on one service before, no joke. Mariana is a sweet, hilarious, extremely talented artist (because "nail tech" doesn't cover what this wizard of a woman does). She's knowledgeable about nail health and teaches you healthy habits to keep them looking and feeling great. She gave me these special nails for my birthday - these are my NATURAL NAILS. They're so strong and *knock on wood* they haven't broken yet even with being so long! All this to say: book your nails with Mariana, she is a true gem. I hope I'll be trying some of the spa's facials one day as well, all of the staff are so friendly!”

“I came here years ago, regularly as it declined. Hadn’t been for years and went again this weekend (Aug 22). I gotta say it has vastly improved. The place was spotless, the door staff and even one or two of the cleaners were friendly and polite. It’s now the only bathhouse in NY, indeed now that NYC is like a suburban mall in Christian fundamentalist America, it’s about the only way to hook up without an app! I recommend it.”

Spa Beauty Unlimited

“Shout out to spa beauty unlimited for saving my life. She called me one day to check on me and to see when I was coming in for a massage after getting surgery. I didn’t even know anything was wrong. Once she saw my body I had to rush to the emergency room. I thank God for her always. I finally got a massage from Lorraine and she made me feel so much better and look better. I am about to get my second massage today and I am extremely excited. She loves what she does and she actually cares about her clients healing process. She gives amazing advice and she wants to see you look and feel better always. She does eyebrows, post op massages and many more. Her skills and talent is amazing. Do not hesitate to book your appointment with her. God bless your hands Lorraine.”

“I love this salon. I’ve gotten my hair cut by Noom every time and I swear I will never go to anyone else again. He always cuts it exactly the way I ask and it looks perfect every time. I came in today with a botched haircut from a different salon and Noom fixed it and made it look amazing. He is now my ride or die stylist. Highly recommend 👏🏻”

“Not the best looking massage spa in the city, but not the worst either. I've been to worse. I wish they had a shower room for before and after, but that's a preference. As for the staff, very friendly staff. I tried to call to make an appointment but no one picked up, but I was close enough to just walk in. They were more than happy to take me in as a walk in. As for the massage, excellent! I didn't catch my masseuse name but she was a very nice Jamaican woman with great massage skills. She got all the knots I had on my back, shoulders and thighs from 2 strenuous days of physical activity. Will definitely come back. Hopefully the other masseuse are as good or even better. But I can't complain about my masseuse massage skills. I got what I came for which was a great massage. But they're not 24 hrs.”

Health Spa

“Beautiful, relaxing, and romantic experience. All of the employees are really attentive and polite. The place is really clean. Hydrate, before and after! Had the grand indulgence package 60 minutes Signature Ancient Thermal Baths 70 minutes full body massage with lavender oil 15 minutes foot massage (WE DID NOT GET) 20 minutes lavender full body scrub A juice and shot pairing was added (recommend the mango juice!) Arrive 15 min early to get the most out of your experience. The check in is very simple. Dress code is swim suits and slippers/robe they give out. They provide lockers, no cell phones are allowed past the locker rooms. If you do not have a swim suit, they can provide one (you keep it after). They have shampoo, conditioner, body wash in the showers. Vanities with make-up remover, q-tips, combs, deodorant, hair ties, straighteners, blow dryers, hair spray, razors. You have the option of showering before/after. Bring a brush/makeup. They have a machine that dries your bathing suit, and baggies to put them in after. Scheduled at 8am, there were about 6 couples there (there’s always about 10-20 people at a time in and out of the baths plus 6 or so employees). After you’ve dressed in your bathing suit and robe, they give you and your partner (plus another couple or two) a tour of the baths. It’s one big giant room downstairs, right outside the locker rooms. There are about 6 baths, 1 steam room, 3 showers, 2 massage rooms, and 1 wine bath room. The place is big enough where everyone has their own privacy. You are free to move around the baths as much as you’d like. When it is time for your massage they come and find you. If you have a juice pairing they offer it to you before the tour of the baths. It is a nude massage so you are not wet from the baths. The therapists dry off your swim suit so it’s nice and warm. The massage is super relaxing. The employees keep track of your time. They provide water and a little area to sit down. The only cons, but not deal breakers: -We did not get the foot massage in our package. -The music during the massage was a tad loud. -The only bathrooms are upstairs in the locker rooms -The showers don’t have individual drains (I wore my slippers)”

“I received the rosewood and listed cubeba body oil in either a fab fit fun box or boxy charm, i think fab fit fun. I tried it one day and it ought, this has citronella in it. Then I noticed NO mosquitos bothered me. Now hear me out, I come from a state with horrible mosquitos, minnesota, but moved to north Carolina. Iwas like immune to MN mosquitos as far as lasting, itchy bites. In north carolina? Its like I'm a buffet and my bites last for weeks. Citronella candles don't work. I use this and I'm fine. No bites. I can even use this on the kids and babies. This product is AMAZING. It is a bit pricy, but I'm not spending, just as much, on deet and chemicals on my skin. My saving grace!”
