Professional Threading Studio

Hair care

“I love this place. It's the only place I'll get my eyebrows done. I've never done anything else, but I trust the women here with my LIFE. I used to come regularly, when I worked on 1st and St. Mark's. Then I moved to working at 2nd and 21st, but I'd still pop in, hopping off the six for a quick threading before work. Then the pandemic happened, and I started working in South Brooklyn and was left to my own devices. I noticed that my brows had an arch problem (like a nasty old man), and I thought, "I need to get this fixed," and damn if she didn't fix that today. Without judgement. Without comment! I was in the chair for much longer than I used to, but no one indicated that it's what you get for waiting three years to get your brows done. The space is sparse but it's clean. It's immaculate. They're back after a brief relocation, and I'll be back in the new year for another threading.”

NYC Department of Finance 21

Address: 66 John St 2nd floor, New York, NY 10038, USA

Local government office

“It's a good layout. You gotta go through a metal detector but that's true of a lot of the city and federal buildings in that area. After that there are several floors of really accessible New York City services, parking, finance, and regulation, there's a lot of stuff here.”

W X Y + architecture + urban design

Ariana

Address: 787 9th Ave, New York, NY 10019, USA

“Very authentic feel and taste. I would definitely come back. Non alcoholic drinks (happy tea, Dough)were unique and tasty. Potato curry was good especially with the added hot sauce. Long grain rice seems to be the base for all the plates and it very tasty on its own.”

Philatelic Foundation

It's main function is educational, to both promote the educational aspects of stamp collecting and to protect the hobby by offering authentication services to collectors and dealers. The Philatelic Foundation has occasionally offered seminars about one or another aspects of philately. They also have published a number of books which have been very well received.”

“Founded in 1945 as Congregation Kehilath Jacob and renamed the Carlebach Shul in honor of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, zt"l, known worldwide as "the singing Rabbi." Very beautiful aron kodesh and synagogue. Photos can be seen in the book, "Ten Times Chai: 180 Orthodox Synagogues of New York City."”

“Quite pleased with the fast and great service here! Richard was excellent and was very methodical throughout. He took my initial suggestions perfectly and was able to execute a great haircut. I will definitely com here again for him! Unfortunately, Mario doesn’t work here anymore. I know he was another great barber here.”

The Fulton by Jean-Georges

Address: 89 South St, New York, NY 10038, USA

Restaurant

“Went for lunch at around 1pm. It was not crowded at all. The hostess sat us promptly and table service was just as quick. Our waiter was great- he answered all of my questions and seamlessly rattled off all the dishes, ingredients and recommendations. We had the salmon, swordfish sandwich, red snapper ceviche and the octopus and mozzarella- which was deliciously salted with lemon (my new favorite appetizer.) we did not have desert but next time I will as I now regret not trying the blood orange custard. My fork fell on the floor and within seconds I was brought a new one. Great service, atmosphere, location and staff. Will definitely return. My only issue was the espresso flavor could have been a little richer. Great experience!”

Sveta

Address: 64 Carmine St, New York, NY 10014, USA

“amazing. we loved our experience. could not say enough good things. we made reservations (highly recommend.) cotton candy mimosas were great! food was great! service was great! atmosphere was great! I said i liked the marshmallow on my mimosa and the waiter even brought me two more to bring home. cotton candy is well worth the $4. The bathroom was even cute! so glad we found such a lovely place and have such a great experience. will definitely share and tell people to visit. 🤍🌸 it was great to support a Ukrainian establishment as well during this time 🇺🇦🤍”

Manhattan Book Group Publishers

Address: 447 Broadway 2nd Floor, #354, New York, NY 10013, USA

“I appreciate that they don’t approve all manuscripts as a hybrid book publisher. Some of the other book publishers in NYC accept everything and anyone who can pay and I feel like there’s a conflict of interest there. Manhattan Book Group Publishers legitimately cares about the content they put out.”

The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine

Address: 1047 Amsterdam Ave, New York, NY 10025, USA

Church

“Beautiful grand cathedral! It's hard to appreciate the size of the building until you are inside it. Standing next to the columns reminded me of standing next to a giant tree. The architecture and stained glass throughout were incredible as was the artwork and carvings. I think there is a guided tour available but we just paid $5 each to walk through on our own. A large section is under renovation but there's still plenty to see.”

Petqua

Address: 2604 Broadway, New York, NY 10025, USA

Pet store Store

“Pet Aqua is a great place to buy a goldfish or resources for a fish. Upstairs, there is a wide array of things like tanks and decorations, (as well as a parrot that can stay stuff). Down stairs there is a tourist with is named George from my memory and he is a legend. Anyway, there are lovebirds downs status and an interesting array of fish. Recommended!”

Rudolf Steiner School

Address: 15 E 79th St, New York, NY 10075, USA

School

“Wonderful curriculum and wonderful teachers. It would be better if the parents of the children followed the teachings of Rudolph Steiner at home when it comes to movies, television and play. To many parents just want a private upper east side school next to Central Park and could care less about anthroposophy and Waldorf education.”

Bryant Park

Address: New York, NY 10018, USA

Park

“The holiday shops were nice to visit. Great places to pick up gifts for family and friends or a little something for yourself. They've got clothing, candles, holiday decor, fragrances, jewelry, pet themed socks, and a host of other items. There are several places to grab a bite to eat. We tried the menu from the Chinese, Indian, and Mexican restaurants and everything was delicious. You can get a small bite from each restaurant if you want to give them all a try or you can get full meals, whatever your preference. There are enough options for everyone to get what they want and places where you can all sit together and chat. The holiday bar was also nice and located next to the skate rink. Plenty of places to sit with friends. It rained when we went and because the shops are inside most were open when we got there in the evening. So this place is a good market to visit rain or shine. The park is about a 5 minute walk from Grand Central Station and is convenient to get to.”

Rasa

Address: 25 W 8th St, New York, NY 10011, USA

Restaurant

“My wife and I came here for dinner after looking for a great halal restaurant in lower manhattan. We came across Rasa and decided to get it out, we were tired of the middle eastern food, which is everywhere. Rasa hit the spot! The restaurant was very clean and the staff was really nice and attentive. We didn’t have to wait long to receive our food and the staff helped us figure out what was the best dishes to get. We really did enjoy our time there. It’s a great halal spot and it’s nice trying out different types of food from other cultures. I would recommend coming here with your significant other or your family especially if you eat halal food, it’s a great spot!!”

Bourke Street Bakery

Address: 313 Amsterdam Ave, New York, NY 10023, USA

Bakery Store

“The Bourke street bakery is replacing PICCOLO cafe (the Piccolo sign is still up the wall). They have another Bourke street bakery on 28th street. Originally from Sidney, Australia, this is a charming bakery with gourmet coffee, bread and pastries. It reminds me more of a danish place than a French one, but great nonetheless. The sourdough and baguette are great. So are the croissants and sausage rolls. Nice Ambiance, the decor is simple and rustic, which gives it an additional charm. The staff is very nice.”

Green Ductors Air Duct & Dryer Vent Cleaning

Address: 434 W 33rd St 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001, USA

“These guys were phenomenal. Called them to have our air ducts cleaned, and they were able to come out first thing the following morning. Pricing was competitive and based on the reviews here and their phone manner, I booked them. Our technician was incredibly professional, polite and tidy. He was happy to explain what he was doing and listened as I explained the situation. Super nice guy and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the job. Our technician took some pictures and when i saw our ducts I was in shock, how terrible they were looking. When they completed the job the Air in the house became so much lighter and more pleasant to breath. I'd highly recommend Green Air Care. Great job guys!”
