“I've been going here for years. This place makes some lovely drinks, the chicken pad thai is consistently good. Friends of mine have ordered other things like pad se ew, pineapple fried rice, tom yum soup - no complaints, they loved it. Every time I bring friends they fall in love and also become opai addicts. The service sometimes is slow and wonky (last I went they forgot to ask us if we wanted drinks- was remedied later on) however the staff here is always friendly, food is always made quickly. I love this place and it's one of my NY staples.”

So light and fluffy the crust, so perfectly spiced the classic filling. Mango Lassi is wonderful with a sweet touch of whipped cream. “I love Golden Wok for quick and cheap Chinese Food. They have a dish I haven’t seen at other similar Chinese takeout spots called Spicy Basil Chicken which comes with white rice or for an extra buck or two, you can get fried rice instead—a pretty good meal for under $7-$9. I love this dish—it’s not anything super spicy, it just has a quite mild kick to it—and it’s also not crazy greasy. Definitely don’t plan to eat-in. There’s just one small booth as it’s a tiny hole-in-the-wall type old place, and certainly nothing that offers much atmosphere. But for tasty, rather inexpensive takeout or delivery, they’re very good. Very good to note: it is CASH ONLY—both for takeout as well as delivery.”

“One of my favorite spots in NYC. The dry pot bowl offers the perfect comfort food. I usually add extra extra fish because they deep fry it before mixing with the stirfry. I can just eat the fish only everyday. In fact, their fish fillet with chili pepper is exactly that. Spice level 80 is perfect for me. 100 can sometimes interfere with my enjoyment of the meal. My husband and I went here almost every week during the pandemic to order our takeout bowl, sometimes we'd just eat in the car. And ever since they reopened for dine-in we've been there too. Price is reasonable. Usually a bowl for 2 is around $50. We go crazy often and end up spending $60-70 which means we'd be rolling out those days. Rice refills are free.”
