Lena Horne Theatre

Address: 256 W 47th St, New York, NY 10036, USA

“This place is great! Came to see Six here and was blown away. The musical was great, and the theater itself is on the smaller side so it wasn't to difficult to navigate around inside. They had ushers to help you to your seat and even with a mostly sold out show everyone found their seats fairly quickly. Before we came in they had a sniffer dog walking by the crowd and to get in we had to show proof of vaccination with our ID'S. Every so often during the show the ushers would walk up and down the aisles to make sure no one was filming and had their masks on properly, so we felt secure coming here. If you're seeing a show here, rest assured they have everything under control and will keep you safe.”

Their lumpiang shanghai is really good too! We usually go to Bilao after my doctor's appointment and I believe the location is very convenient to the hospitals - Cornell, HSS, Sloan Kettering, and Mount Sinai. We love supporting local businesses and healthcare workers. The management is a group of nurses which is amazing!”

“I just finished taking the 7:30p “Adult” class. I think I was the only proper adult in the room apart from the instructor, but that was fine. The other three students were high school students. We started mostly on time and I got a brief run down of the rules. We did 10 laps as a warm-up; the area is roughly the size of a basketball court if I had to give you a mental model of the size of the space. After the jog we did a brief period of stretching then went into the Ninja training. Within 1.5 hour, I was pretty able to sample most of the exercises; at least the ones I was capable of doing.  There wasn't any rigid structure and programming, and I got to hop in and out of the different obstacle courses. A lot of the exercises require a decent amount of upper body strength. If you aren't used to swing and hanging off things, then your grip strength will definitely be challenged. They also have a balanced based obstacle course if that is more your forte. They rotate parts of the obstacle course on the weekly basis, so there are always new challenges to try. The instructor, Sebastian, was wonderful and very encouraging. My only regret is that I wish they had things like this when I was younger. I had so much fun, and I'm happy something like exist. They also had so much fun. There is another location in Gowanus called Brooklyn Ninja Academy. Which might be more convenient for any Brooklynites. This one is a bit tough to get to if you're taking the train because it's all the way on 12 Avenue and 55th street, but the closest train is located on 59th and 8th Avenue. Some recommendations that, I felt, could have the experience even better: Provide locker rooms to change. The only place to change in privacy is the one unisex bathroom, which was clean, by the way. A vending machine with drinks or water cooler would be great since this is a gym. A courtesy email reminder sent out 24–72 hours before class is always a nice touch. Overall, I would highly recommend trying this out. They make it look so easy on TV!”

New York State DMV - Manhattan (Midtown)

Address: 366 W 31st St, New York, NY 10001, USA

Local government office

“This was actually really easy and fast compared to what I was thinking would happen. It’s clean and professional. You book appt online ahead. When you arrive, scan your QR code to get your ticket # and wait to be called. Didn’t take long to go to first teller to get picture and start process. Took about 30 min to see next teller and finalize everything. ID will be mailed in a couple of weeks. Pretty seamless and easy. Oh and they also text you when your number is called which made it easier to see which teller to go to (also shows on the board above). I would recommend this location.”

Fred Astaire Dance Studios - Upper East Side

Address: 1289 Madison Ave 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10128, USA

“My wife and I wanted to learn different dance styles and choreograph a routine for our first dance at our wedding. We worked with Angelina and had an amazing experience with her. She knows how to effectively break down steps and combinations so they are easy to understand and perform. She was very patient as she taught us the basics and helped us craft a wedding dance that we'll never forget. She also gave us confidence to perform (especially with the lift!). Our guests were surprised and impressed with the performance, and were still talking about it months after the wedding. Angelina also taught us several different types of dance styles that we were able to use during open dance at our wedding. She knows how to start off slowly with the basics, and then work up to the more complex steps without making you feel overwhelmed. If you're interested in learning to dance, brushing up on your dance moves, or choreographing a memorable wedding dance routine, then Angelina is your girl!”

Massawa

Address: 1239 Amsterdam Ave, New York, NY 10027, USA

Restaurant

“Such a lovely place with tasty food! Has an outdoor protected from the wind area and quite large indoor space. We ordered a vegetarian sampler with lamb and salmon and it was way enough for two people. We could not finish the food but it was so good, especially spicy lamb! We also tried a rum cake which was just ok but then i do not have a sweet tooth so perhaps sweet lovers would appreciate it more. I have to say that the menu has many drinks options ranging from mimosas (for those who like festive brunches) to different teas and coffees. I highly recommend this great food stop and will be back myself for sure!”

Dive Bar

Address: 732 Amsterdam Ave, New York, NY 10025, USA

Restaurant

“My friend and I stumbled upon this spot on a random February evening last year, and we couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. The place was lively with a diverse crowd, ranging from people winding down after work to a fun French family with kids having dinner next to us. The TVs were playing the latest sports games, making it an ideal spot for sports fans. We decided to grab a quick bite and a drink, and the bartender was incredibly attentive. He answered all of my friend's questions about the different beers they had on tap and helped her pick one out. The service was fast, prompt, and no nonsense, making it the perfect spot for a late night meal. One of the highlights of the evening was the Planter's Punch my friend and I ordered. I loved its sweet and tangy flavors, and how perfectly balanced it was. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend this bar for anyone looking for a fun and casual night out.”

Rai Rai Ken + Curry Ya + Otafuku

Address: 218 E 10th St, New York, NY 10003, USA

Meal takeaway Restaurant

“Went on a sat evening without reservation, got a table for three in under 20 minutes, it was quite busy and crowded. Ordered Kara-Age, Katsun buns and chicken curry. Everything tasted amazing. The curry is not that spicy but it is very refreshing. The service is fast and prices are reasonable given the quantity. Great place overall.”

Mercury Jets - Private Jet Charter

Address: 244 5th Ave suite d-273, New York, NY 10001, USA

Clothing store Store

Wild Bird Fund

Address: 565 Columbus Ave, New York, NY 10024, USA

“The only place I could find in NYC to help address an injured bird (pigeon, specifically). I'm extremely grateful as the majority of vet hospitals and clinics, even emergency clinics, only seem to treat cats and dogs. I visited several before finding Wild Bird Fund. Skip the search and come straight here for injured birds. There's an avian hospital across the street for domesticated birds. Sincerely, thank you for all that you do. Send a donation if you can spare a few bucks; Wild Bird Fund's efforts are unrecognized and underrated.”

Tidal Tea

Address: 1520 Amsterdam Ave, New York, NY 10031, USA

Cafe

“My teas were very good and nicely sized. They don’t include the “bubbles,” but they can be added for just 60 cents extra as well as a variety of other extras like aloe. They also have special popping flavored bubbles such as mango flavored and aloe along with other additional options you can add to your drink. They allow you to choose the level of sugar you prefer as well as how much ice you’d like in your beverage. They offer a small selection of food: chicken dumplings and a chili noodle dish among a couple other appetizer-type items, but it’s mainly just for teas: of which they have a large variety of flavors and customization options.”
